About Me

CURRENT MISSION

De prisa, de prisa, rumbo perdido

ABOUT ME

I was born in Dublin, as soon as I was born though I wanted to get out and see things. I remember being around 10 and begging my aunt to bring me away "anywhere foreign", so we headed to London for the weekend. Since then, I have lived in Cork, Beijing, Guadalajara and have been to India, all over Europe, around north-eastern China (my money ran out when I reached Nanjing, about half way down) and all over Mexico.

I love meeting people and I love when locals can show you around their own city and show you all the cool stuff only locals know. Also, learning about other cultures and countries, systems of government, history etc. That is why I love couchsurfing. My limited experience has been fantastic, I have met very different people who I have learned alot from, had some great laughs and got to see some great things. This is definitely a long-term thing for me.

More about me if you're interestd: I love languages and philosophy, psychology is one of my loves. Im relaxed, dont like being bogged down in pointless things. At the same time, I love 'smelling the roses', taking your time at things and enjoying them and taking the time to think about things. That's a reason why I love parks, especially the summer. If you wanna know more, email me.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing really matters, so just enjoy your life while you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Giving places to people, talking\learning with other people. Going to events / encuentros. I'll definitely tell people about this project, its fantastic.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted three people and been hosted many times. My couchsurfing experience has been incredible. It's definitely one of the best things I've done. Aside from just hosting and surfing, I've met many people at meet-ups and by being hosted by the same person. No one I have met has been anything other than very sound.

Interests

I like living life to its full, getting out and doing thigns that one has always wanted to do. Things like travelling, meeting new people, trying new things, experimenting. This is one of the big things I like about couchsurfing, that it gives more people the opportunity to travel more, it gives the opportunity to learn new things through talking to the hosts and other surfers. Through the hosts new things can be tried from that country, e.g. a type of food from that country can be tasted because the host can cook it for the surfer or tell him where to get it or inform him of its existence.

Apart from that, I love art of all kinds, literature, music, films, painting. Unfortunately I don't know enough about theatre but would love to find out more. I also appreciate certain high-quality television programs.

I also love learning, I love to learn about history, culture, society, people, communities, languages, you name it. I can speak four languages so far and am constantly on Wikipedia learning more bits and pieces about the world. I love discussing things with people, this way I can expand my horizons, learn about more points of view and re-consider my own opinions. As long as the other person is open minded.

Music, Movies, and Books

French films are cool. The Matrix Trilogy. Anything with a bit of depth.
Books - Captain Correlli's Mandolin, non-fiction, I like philosophy in books.
Music - anything. Especially funk + alt. rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked along the great wall, fantastic experience. Another time, I saw an elephant walk down a main street in India, then take a massive shit in the middle of the road, it was still there the next day. Not exactly amazing but definitely unique.

Then there's the time I rode a horse up a mountain in Mexico to see a ghost town, also the Copper Canyon (Barranca de Cobre) in Chihuahua was amazing. I having a feeling this section could get very long before if I listed everything.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
