I have seen a few accounts have been frozen by Couchsurfing to try to gain money from people. I do not use CSing to find hosts, i use it purely to host. I believe we are contributing to the community by doing this, so I will not pay. Not just me, my family. We are a family of mixed Scots German origin. We have 3 children, all fluent in the above languages. We live in the Highlands and its great, but we also love to travel and learn new things. We really enjoy meeting people and having a good laugh. We also like to interact with CSers and show them the area.

I will also add that many of the references left by guests are to be found in the personal section, in fact most of the personal references are from CSers. Finally i should say that we are a very open family. We are not naturists, but it may be that someone is walking from the shower to their room or makes a cup of coffee in the morning either naked or near naked. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing is a great way for my children to meet and learn how to converse with new people from all over the world from the comfort of their own home. It is important to us to teach them how to interact with others so that they will gain the confidence to couchsurf when they are older. They already have a network of friends over the whole of Europe, and it keeps growing!

Interests

As a family we love walking in the forests and mountains. Searching for nice rocks. Wild cooking. Swimming. Rugby, travel, and just general family fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts. We all play, or are learning to play, a lot of instruments. We love music from Wagner to Red Hot Chili Peppers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many things. Had children. Visited volcanoes. Swam in mad places. Found gold in a local river.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach, and will soon do again, Geology at a Uni. Anybody interested in rocks we can chat. I also want my children to learn whatever a guest has to share.
