ABOUT ME

52 years old, as of 2013- never married - might call me a momma's boy since I still live in the house I grew up in. Mom and Dad live here too and they are still in good health. I like to take a long trip in the summer to a cooler place, and usually do a backpack trip and a cruise in one of the other seasons. i've traveled in Mexico, Central and South America on Christian mission trips, cruises and one bicycle trip.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been a follower of Jesus since 2003. Since many are intimidated by strong religious views, I won't say more unless you ask me more. My verses to live by are:

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just joined June 2011. Before that I have been a member of warmshowers.com which is similar but only for bicycle touring fans.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

no experience hosting yet. but we have hosted several bicycle travelers via the "warmshowers" web site, in our home in the last 3 or 4 years. Not sure what I've got to do to get a couch host to give me a review?? I've stayed with 3 other couchsurf hosts, although mainly as place to park my car while flying or cruising at two of them.

not very important to me. Rarely sit long enough to see a movie or read a great book. I do listen to music of many types, sort of as a comforting background at home or on the go with mp3 music

Just saw my first wild bears in Smoky Mountains.
Have ridden my bicycle in about 36 of the lower 48 US states, plus Mexico.

I don't think I'm here (as a host) to teach except things you specifically ask about. As a guest, I'd be too shy to ask a lot unless you had time to share- which I'd assume you may not have.
