About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life full, vibrant and free! Be faithful with what is in front of me.

ABOUT ME

I am a free-spirited, adventurous, outdoor loving soul who wants to see as many places as possible while living a life rich with memories and making a couple places "home" that I can come back to after galavanting the globe. I like to eat healthy, cook from scratch, and keep my body as clean inside as I do outside. Exercise, being out in nature, writing poetry, and singing my heart out are just a few things that make me feel most alive. People tell me I am down-to-earth, trustworthy, fun, and spontaneous. I have a quirky side for sure but I won't do anything really weird until you've known me for a while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to have a more authentic travel experience where I meet the lovely locals, save money (aren't we all?), live wisely, and especially connecting with other world travellers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From my extended relatives in Germany who we stayed with, they connected us with a couple in Austria who loves to host people from all over the world. So we caught a train to be picked up by these complete strangers... Kurt & Resi. Kurt is a stay at home husband who does all the cooking, cleaning, and gardening. They have beautiful gardens all around their house. He really knows what he is doing! They live right in the alps with incredible views from their balconies looking across the valley. Resi is full time doctor and wife who is gone all day! We stayed 2 nights with them I think... in a very small quaint town tucked away in the Austrian Alps. Kurt took one of the days to drive us all over through the mountains and up to a beautiful lookup point where we could see the tiny villages scattered throughout the valleys. He spoke barely a word of English and we spoke no German (although I am half-German), and yet it was a lovely time we had with him! Resi spoke a bit more english and when she was home she translated as best she could. They barely knew these two Canadian girls but seeing as their kids are all grown up they have two empty bedrooms. They said to come back any time and stay as long as we like! I have also been hosted by amazing souls in Ireland. Several took the time to hang out and drive me to amazing locations. I gained several new friends who I stayed with on my Ireland trip. I enjoy extending that same hospitality to others and networking with people worldwide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Europe and the UK with a good girlfriend and a flexible itinerary. Saw a ton of places in 5.5 weeks! Would like to go back and spend more time in fewer places to better appreciate and enjoy each place.

Backpacked and camped up on Mt Robson many years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yesterday is valid but will not change. Memories can be beautiful and painful but they all have something to teach us. I am most effective when I live in the moment but I am also a dreamer with many big dreams and I cannot imagine living without purpose and dreams to look forward to. Never limit yourself to what you are comfortable with, because it is in stepping out into the unknown and sometimes uncomfortable that we have the most amazing adventures!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good cook. I cook healthy, flavourful and delicious food. If you have a guitar I can play and sing a little. We can exchange stories and ideas. If I'm travelling by car I'll most likely bring my guitar with me.
