About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reframing everything after the pandemic. Settling in my new home in Vienna without losing my roots in Vienna. Writing more. Getting back into scuba diving. Scoring some good goals on the football pitch, and running a few kilometres more.

ABOUT ME

I'm a journalist and translator who got sucked up into the climate vortex. I have travelled the world and lived in several countries and now I feel like making a little nest and helping out those who are exploring, without ever losing my itchy feet. I enjoy long evenings with beers and good music, walks along some forgotten riverside, tasty and spicy food that you can buy for a few coins and staying in hearing the rain tap-tap-tap on my windows.

I'm a cat person who loves dogs. A realist who loves to dream big. I hate flies but I understand mosquitoes.

PHILOSOPHY

This life is just a short little spark in a very, very long darkness. Enjoy it, and choose who you want to enjoy it with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted and been hosted, but that was a looooong time ago. Back then every experience was positive, and this was a wonderful project. A truly altruistic, idealistic plan. Something really simple, but it had the potential to change the world. Now I've heard some horror stories, mostly from women. I hope I can help bring back the old vibe.

Interests

I laid it out up there, but if you need to know more, I'm an unapologetic left winger, very aware of the history of my country and my continent. I love serious topics and I love silly ones. I can tell you all about the history of my favourite football team and make it sound interesting. Or so I think. Anyway...

I love music, from a baroque symphony to a punk mosh pit. Getting too old for the latter though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting real scared after confusing a gecko with a fan and a frog with a deer. Ask me how.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you practice your Spanish (and I guarantee an awesome Southern accent), but I want to learn swearwords in your language in exchange.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a few delicious dishes I guess!
