About Me

ABOUT ME
In short, I am an outdoorsy librarian who loves to travel. I live with my fiancée Adam - https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2008284383

We have lived in upstate New York, Kansas, and Wisconsin, in addition to Massachusetts.

I’m a fan of good coffee, and I also enjoy tea, red wine, and seltzer. Adam and I are both mostly vegan, but I will occasionally indulge in a good New England raw bar. We cook most of my own meals and enjoy trying new recipes. Healthy (whole carbs only, no added sugar, lots of veggies) is our jam (but I do have a sweet tooth—I just don’t indulge it all that often).

I love games of all kinds. I also love doing anything outdoors (climbing, hitting the beach, hiking, camping)—and I am obsessed with maps (I have a large collection). I also love books which is why I’m a librarian. I especially love fantasy and romance books. I enjoy serving my community and helping people of all ages find the resources they are looking for. (Really I mostly just help old people use the computer.) I am also an occasional DM, so if you like Dungeons & Dragons, we will also have a lot to talk about. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting locals when I travel and offering the experience in turn when I can. I like having conversations with new people and learning about the world. Especially the times I’ve been a solo traveler. The people I meet on CS make the experience for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went waterfall rappelling in Guadalajara with a camp counselor friend of mine. I’ve backpacked in New Zealand, met some amazing people in my travels, and met some amazing authors. Saw Vanessa Carlton live in Cambridge. Also worked at Boston Fan Expo and got to see all four hobbits (Elijah, Sean, Dominic & Billy). That’s a lot more than one thing but it’s so hard to choose. Everyday above ground is a good day, and so you could say it’s all amazing, even the difficult times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can braid pretty well and can braid your hair if it’s at least shoulder length. I am also a good belay partner (top rope for now… lead is a tad rusty), relatively tech-savvy so I can help you troubleshoot your computer, and I am a good copy editor/ proof reader. I’m also always willing to play and teach new games! And if we have a good time together, if it fits my availability, you can hit me up for my couch or use me as a local tour guide when you’re in my neck of the woods!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am tidy, easygoing, and low maintenance (so is Adam when we travel together). I am a good communicator and will give you all the details you need to host me/us with ease. Both Adam and I enjoy cooking vegetarian food and are happy to cook you dinner or take you out. We are down to go out for live music and local comedy, and we love hiking and exploring. Good moments, good conversations, and good memories!
