Overview
About Me
Hi! I am a relaxed and opend minded person. Originally I come from a small city in northern Germany.
Last summer (2020) I finally finished my PhD, moved to Berlin to move in with my girlfriend, who also recently finished her studies. We wanted to start traveling in November, even subletted our appartment.
However, health and Corona made this difficult, so we had to improvise, doing some Workaway close to home.
Now we started a new attempt to see the world!
As I am traveling together with my girlfriend, here is her CS profil: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/beafromberlin
However it is not the most up to date ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling and in my opinion couch surfing is a great way to get in touch with local people, get insider tips for discovering cities and maybe make some new friends.
Also, I like offering my couch for fellow travelers to meet interesting people without leaving my home.
Since I moved to Berlin, we curently do not have space for a suitable, this will hopfully be remedied when we come back from our curent trip.
Interests
I am interested in many things but it's hard to find the time. I love to do sports. I was a rower for many years. Then, I started playing rugby but I also like to go swimming, diving, biking, windsurfing or hiking.
I also love traveling (surprise!), bird watching, playing chess, wood working, reading and just generally enjoying nature.

Teach, Learn, Share
As a good German my only real skill is to be able to open a beer bottle with about anything. I will gladly share this skill with anyone willing to learn.
If opening beer is not your main interest, I am sure we will find other areas where I could also teach, be it languages, birds or woodworking.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my travel experience or any kind of story or skill you are interested in :)
I would not consider myself an experit cook, but I have found cooking food together is a great way to share.
