ABOUT ME

I love both nature and historic cities, and currently I am fortunate enough to combine the two. I live in a small forest in the centre of Holland, nearby Utrecht. Together with the love of my life Laurens, we live in a private cottage / cabin, where we don't have internet access of central heating, but we do have a wood stove, lots of music and a garden with an outdoor pizza oven within the forest.

In 2009 I've set up a soap business, it sort of happened accidentally. While couchsurfing in Canada I stumbled upon soap making. I fell in love with it and started to create my own soap back at home. Now, eight years later this has become a soap workshop in the heart of Utrecht, where we work with five people to produce high quality organic soap.

I like art, creating projects, living in nature and city centers surrounded by the history of it, and farm live all together. Don't eat meat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through CS we hosted some people and have stayed with quite some wonderful people as well. This way we get to meet people and see places on our travels through their eyes. All good experiences! Couchsurfing is just a great way of traveling and meeting people.

We stayed with so many wonderful people! And now that we live in the forest we are able to host again as well!

Before I knew about CS i stayed at people's houses in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, Turkey, Ireland and Sicily.
Also, I invited some people to stay over at my house of whom I met in the train. (They missed the train to Amsterdam, back then I had the space to host people and becoming hospitable to people is one thing travelling did for me.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A very special place to me is Ledesma, I stayed in an amazing town palace, I will always return there.
Staying in the desert, hitching by myself in Ireland, hitching together through eastern Turkey, all experiences are special to me and just a glimps of what's ahead of me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share friendship, cooking, lots of laughter, (traveling-) stories, a good sense of humor, and then again, prepare a delicious meal.
