About Me

ABOUT ME

"One does not simply describe himself", but I have to, so, in a metaphoric way, I would say that I'm like those old Nokia phones: I'm easy going , reliable, enjoyable , my battery never discharge, I have some nice ringtones and if you throw me against a brick wall I won't break... well, I can't guarantee the last part but for the rest you can be sure! 😁

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I host someone I do it following the rules of what ancient Greeks called ξενία (Xenia) the guest-friendship: RESPECT, HOSPITALITY and HONESTY.
I expect you doing the same.

Interests

Mostly reading, singing, dancing, cooking...
It doesn't mean that I'm smart, or a brilliant cook and a talented singer-dancer :D
The truth is that I have lot of free time so I like to read and learn useless stuff :) I have to survive somehow so I cook pretty often :D and I like to imagine my life as a musical xD

If you go through my pics you'll see some of the things I like the most: cooking in company, being a crazy dancer, reading second hand books and imagining the story that brought that book there, spinning shitty music for parties, holding boards with non sense Latin sentences , drinking my cup of tea in the street, entertaining groups of strangers, dreaming of being a Cardinal, eating and drinking traditional food and beverage from the places I visit! 🤣

I didn't put travelling for two reasons: first, it is obvious, we are on couchsurfing!
Second, travelling is more than an interest, it's a lifestyle.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a favourite genre, it depends a lot on my mood, so it might be like Classical or Trip Hop, 50's rock, Klezmer or chansons française, techno, Opera, trance, 80's one-hit-wonder ,Electro swing or Space Disco. Sometime I just like to put Ennio Morricone's western songs in my headphones and walk in the street crossing my eyes with people looking for a duel 🤣
But, most of the time is shitty music to party and dance on :P

For the cinema I have a pretty wide range too: I could say Ghost Dog, Il Marchese del Grillo, LOTR, Old boy, Il gatto, Papillon, Train de vie and many others.

Books? Mostly I prefer XIX century's French and Russian authors: like Balzac, Dumas, Flaubert, Maupassant, Turgenev, Lermontov, Gogol, Cechov, Tolstoj, but I also loved to sail through the pages written by Zweig, Kafka, Joseph Roth, Mann and many many others.
I love classics, as you can see, but the book that changed my life and made me a reader is Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey, which I highly recommend 😄

As you can see I'm lying between 2 extremes: one intellectual and sophisticated, the other one dramatically trashy and kitsch. Mission of my life is finding the right balance between the clownesque and the serious.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From the top of the Vesuvius I've seen the sun rising, from the Vajdahunyad Castel in Budapest I've seen it going down. I sailed at night around Capri and Amalfi. I've seen the stars while I was sitting right under the Colosseum, while I was riding the lions in Trafalgar Square or walking down Nevskij Prospekt. I touched some dinosaur footprints in Apulia. I made wine, oil and tomato sauce with my grandparents in the old good way. I've sung in the rain in a Transilvanian wood, in the Vieux Port of Marseille, on the Acropolis in Athens, on Charles Bridge in Prague and on the Grand Place of Bruges. I went to a traditional polish wedding in a small village and there, after lot of Wodka I made all the people sing Italiano Vero xD I did volunteering in Romania, Lithuania, Kurdistan, France. I've met people from every corner of the world, I talked to them, I listened their stories and I learned from their words that the World is amazing, and life purpose is to explore it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Blaise Pascal said:《Il est bien plus beau de savoir quelque chose de tout que de savoir tout d'une chose 》so I'm interested into... well, everything xD history, literature, art, politic, traditions, architecture, linguistic, philosophy, design, morality, economy, sociology, technical development, religion, philology, medicine.
I'm very curious and eager to learn more about Russia, Iran, China and Japan.

What I Can Share with Hosts
