Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to try it myself, but I have hosted and met with lovely travelers and hope to keep it up!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a host, I love hearing people's stories and exchanging words and wisdoms over a good meal or a drink. It gives me an excuse to get to know my own city better as well! Because, ultimately, happiness is only real when shared.

Interests

Anything that involves the outdoors and nature, drinking craft beer (particularly stouts), and all kinds of sports. Oh, and laughing excessively.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After spending a day viewing the wonders of Machu Picchu, we were coming back on the train and we noticed that a blind man was descending with us. He had a smile on his face and seemed as if he had just accomplished something great, and in fact, he had. It made me realize that for us, it was a visual thrill to see such natural beauty and history, but for him, it was so much more. He didn't need eyes to fully appreciate everything that Machu Picchu had to offer. It seemed to be a personal triumph of deeper significance than just the physical aspects. Chapeau, sir. You inspire me to look past what I see at first glance and I won't forget that.
