About Me

I recently got my PhD in biomedical engineering and am currently working as a postdoctoral associate. I love doing research and truly hope to use my knowledge to advance the medical field and improve people's lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfed my way through Europe and it changed my life. I couldn't travel without CS ever since -- travelling and making new CS friends have become almost inseparable.
Since moving to Durham with my other CS housemates, I have had the opportunities to contribute back to this amazing community. We have hosted CSers from all over the country and the world and absolutely loved every single experience thus far.

Interests

I've played football (aka soccer) ever since I was six. Can't go a week without kicking a ball around.

I love music, but do not limit myself within some certain genres. I play the ukulele and am teaching myself guitar and the keyboard.

Of course it goes without saying, I love travelling, learning new languages, and meeting people from different cultures.

And this quote from Freya Stark: "To awaken quite alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world."

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an information sponge so I'm open to learning about anything new! In particular, I'd love to improve my guitar skills and would be open to learning about any musical instrument in general.
In exchange, I can teach you a few curse words or romantic songs in Vietnamese, whatever soothes your soul. If you like football, I can teach you some juggling skills.
And of course, I can talk to you about biology, genetics, and my research if you're interested by any chance, or just want to fall asleep quickly.
