-helping other with their health, body, and breathing
-training and talking about martial arts
-eating good food
-sharing ideas and stories, philosophizing
-authentic conversations
-physical movement/play (especially outdoors)
-going to the beach
-good coffee
-practicing languages (especially Spanish)
-spontaneous adventures…sometimes
-people who are genuine, reflective, and self-aware
-the spiritual/philosophical journey
-my morning routine

I do not love:
-tomatoes

-board games
-cats
-traffic
-museums

I am working on:
-being more honest with myself

-being more spontaneous
-becoming the best health and breathing coach I can
-constantly improving communication skills
-figuring out how to beat save/invest money
-the spiritual/philosophical journey

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are wired to connect with others. I appreciate what makes another person unique, and I'd rather make a new friend and see a new place through his/her eyes than bounce around hostels.

On the flip side, it's also an opportunity to make new friends with people when they come my way. Anyone who comes through Tangier must be on some sort of adventure, I imagine, and I'd love to get to know them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a "little bit of everything" kind of guy. As a musician, I try to have a broad appreciation, but I'm partial to choral music, blues guitar music, and 90s-2000s American pop/rock.

I'm not much of a movie watcher, but I have some random favorites:
Liar Liar
Happy Gilmore
The Departed
Shawshank Redemption
Nobody
(There are definitely other movies I loved but already forgot I saw them)

Same relationship to books as I have with movies. Usually reading articles, blurbs, or blogs about stuff that interests me, particularly human movement, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, and self-development. If I do read a book, it's usually non-fiction, unless highly recommended by a friend. Here are some I've read that I appreciate:
-12 Rules for Life
-The Oxygen Advantage
-10% Human
-Breath
-The Alchemist
-Daring Greatly
-7 Spiritual Laws of Success
-Rich Dad, Poor Dad
-Whatever You Think, Think the Opposite

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a hot air balloon ride over northern Thailand, and then almost died from the experience. Solid morning.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a born teacher, so anything I love to do, I usually love to teach as well:
-How to breathe better for health
-How to breathe better for athletic performance
-Music (Singing, guitar, beginner piano, ear training)
-Martial Arts and Self-Defense
-English and Spanish
-Health and wellness coaching
-Fitness, movement, and body control
-How to make a killer omelette

I'm really interested in learning:
-New languages
-How to cook new things
-How to build/fix things (I'm not good at that)
-Travel hacks
-Lots of things I probably don't even know I want to learn yet :-)

Excited for you to share:
-Your language
-Your personal experience living wherever you live
-Your travel stories
-Your hopes, dreams, and fears (seriously)
-Your honest and vulnerable perspective on yourself and/or the state of the world

What I Can Share with Hosts

-Meaningful conversation
-A safe place to talk about controversial topics honestly
-An opportunity to make music with someone else (i.e. "Jam session")
-Language practice
-An open mind and an enthusiasm for connecting, traveling, and learning

I am certified as an integrative health coach, advanced breathing coach, personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, yoga instructor, self-defense instructor, Animal Flow instructor — and I LOVE sharing this with others :-)
