About Me

So, yo, what's up? My name is George. I'm from a small town in the smallest state but I've felt it's time to grow a little. I'm a writer with a passion for performing, I'm easy-going, and I have dope style. I also like to be concise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly to meet people. For over a year now I have been living in a co-op, and it's time to pop the bubble. I appreciate my time spent there and I'm forever thankful for the people I've met, but I'd like to spin my own web of interesting characters and stories and see where it leads me. I'm all about forward movement, even if it brings me back.

Interests

When I originally moved to Austin, I had just purchased a microphone. I wanted to learn how to rap. Well, now I've performed shows across the city (one of the more notable shows at The Mohawk) and I'm excited to make more music. That's what this part of my journey is all about. I love and live hip-hop. My current goal is to record a true "mixtape" that blends hip-hop with genres like shoegaze, pop/punk, techno, jazz/funk and whatever else I can fit my lyrics into. If you're a musician then I think we'll get along!

Beyond that, I love conversation, meeting new and interesting people, comedy, tacos, cats, beer and the occasional ganja with some videogames when time permits.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly I hate these because I really don't have a categorized list of all my favorite things, and plus it's always changing. I don't know why but this has always been a difficult thing to answer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What's "amazing" really, though? That I've performed for over 500 people? That I put 300+ hours into Morrowind when I was in high school? I mean come on. If you want to know my feelings on it, check out Louis C.K's bit about "amazing."

Teach, Learn, Share

Empathy, writing techniques, general life advice, how to roll your own cigs, how to shotgun a beer out of a glass bottle, how to cut your own hair (and layer it, too!), how to paint your nails with your left hand, how to Google all your problems.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories about bad first dates and what it feels like to get mugged.
