About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming a better sailor ⛵️

ABOUT ME

I'm a catacomb-sized Third Culture Kid, born in Sofia, Bulgaria, grew up in New York City, went to college in Los Angeles, spent a year in Paris, and two years in Madison, Wisonsin!
Currently back in New York City.
I travel a lot for work, typically Monday-Thursday or some variation thereof. On weekends, I volunteer at a community garden in the Bronx. This summer, I’m growing pumpkins, okra, and beets! During the week, I work in the healthcare IT space, advising hospitals on best practices and system configuration.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy has evolved with time, but I always believe that a seemingly small action can have a very profound ripple effect. I also aspire to help others realize their full potential in a given situation, and that can take different forms.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been incredibly lucky in surfing some of the best couches in the world! While I may not have the ideal conditions for hosting right now, I am always excited about meeting people and showing them around wherever I am: New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Madison!

Update: I have my own place to host in the Melrose section of the Bronx.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music that changes frequently... if I like a song, I'll listen to it for a few weeks on repeat until I move on to the next song.

Sofi Tukker, RHCP, Galantis, ODESZA, Broods, Phantogram, Darius, Sebastien Tellier, Matt & Kim, DJ Tiesto, The Strokes, Kygo, CocoRosie, Kavinsky, the Naked and Famous, Modest Mouse, Fitz and the Tantrums, Manu Chao, Aventura, bagpipe music and a lot more.

I've discovered some of these amazing musicians through the CS community and I'm always expanding this list!

TV shows: The Americans, Suits, Black Mirror, Insecure

Books: Le Petit Prince, 1984, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Je voudrais que quelqu'un m'attende quelque part, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Master and Margarita

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- watching Bioluminescent dinoflagellates emit light near Malibu
- figuring out that Santa's not real by recognizing the boots of the maintenance worker pretending to be Santa in my daycare (when I was 3)
- 140 mph on the back of a motorcycle in LA
- helping my grandma harvest honey from her beehives
- Belogradchick Rocks
- Krushuna Falls
- Niagara Falls
- flying a plane over Utrecht, Holland (okay, co-piloting haha :)
- a shiny snake on the side of the road in the Dominican Republic
- chasing bunnies in the middle of the night in Long Beach
- organizing political events as part of the Political Student Assembly
- catacombs in Paris
- climbing over a 15-ft fence in really high heels and a dress
- graduating from college with a 3.9! while still having lots of fun ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very interested in learning about how other people live. There are things we all take for granted that can be incredibly eye-opening to others, and I enjoy discovering these things. I want to share yoga experiences, delicious meals, and adrenaline!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very generous and try to share as much as I can, whether it’s stories, recipes, a meal, or something unexpected!
