ABOUT ME

I've always loved travelling. I've been to northern Mexico, central Mexico, Chile, Canada, and gone on road trips to various parts of the USA. My family and I returned from a five week trip to New Zealand in January 2012. It was an amazing adventure!

I've been in Dayton, Ohio for far too long, and I need a change of venue. I'm feeling rather nomadic again! I love meeting people from all over the USA and the world!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been couchsurfing a bit with my wife and three children. Haven't had a chance to host or have coffee; who purposely vacations in Dayton Ohio?

Learning new things. Meeting new people. Learning about different cultures. Spanish language. Armchair economist. Travelling. I'd love to "re-learn" how to go tramping and camping again. It's been far too long!

Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels. Doctor Who. Poirot. I love progressive rock like Dream Theater, Ayreon, Fates Warning, Redemption, TSO, Savatage, etc.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I was in Chile, I climbed an active volcano! I went with a tour group and climbed Volcan Villarrica. Not too difficult a climb, but still a great workout. Didn't get to see any lava bubbling, but we made it to the sulfurous summit and crater!

My family and I (5 of us) went to New Zealand in Dec '11 through Jan '12. We drove all around the North Island. Whangarei, Auckland, Coromandel, Waikato, Waitomo, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Hawke's Bay. We were busy. On top of that, I worked remotely for about 3 days per week, while my wife "homeschooled" the three kids to keep them up with their classmates!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I have taught beginning Spanish as a private tutor. I could also teach programming or English. I would love to learn how to garden better, especially in the smaller yard that I have.
