About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stay put awhile

ABOUT ME

Moved to Welly in February after living overseas for a few years. Keen to meet travellers, especially Latinos! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in community, sharing what we have, respecting diversity. I'm especially interested in women's health issues and feminism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fill up this section with words.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favourite CouchSurfing experiences have always been when I've been able to hang out with my hosts/surfers as much as possible.

I first started using the site in 2008 when I was living in Paris. I thought it was the craziest idea but had heard good things about Couchsurfing from a Kiwi friend.

When I moved to Montreal in 2011 without knowing a soul, I found it very easy to meet like-minded people thanks to the welcoming CSing community there.

I hosted a lot in Montreal with the Dante Street crew. At one point, we had six CSers staying plus five roommates, a cat, a ferret, a Chinese water dragon...and one bathroom.

I've moved back to New Zealand after a few years overseas and I'm open to meeting Couchsurfers and sharing a cup of tea with friendly folk.

Interests

Anything outdoors, camping, hiking. Trying to get more into meditation.

I love writing, mostly poetry.

Music - noise music, ambient stuff, gypsy, samba, Indonesian, Indian, opera...I'm pretty open-minded.

I speak French and Spanish (far from perfectly!) and definitely would be keen to practice with whoever.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, yes, yes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many happy times walking through this beautiful world and sitting in magical forests

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to speak New Zealandish. It takes some years to cultivate this but the secret is pronouncing the word 'yes' without opening your mouth.

And of course I can introduce you to the hobbit who lives down the road.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Vegetarian/vegan food made from green things and love.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Samoa, Slovakia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand
