About Me

Currently, I'm still 'stuck' at home in Hull, England, trying to 'make a break for it' and get travelling again - covid restrictions are now gone, and the pandemic years kind of left me stranded, losing my partner and life-direction in the process.

So I need a fresh start - to meet new people, visit new places, become inspired and motivated enough to actually start writing my book (a plan I've had for a while now), and, if I'm really lucky, find a new direction and ultimately a new home.

I travelled and volunteered through workaway.info in the pre-covid years, after a return to university to study Sociology, which followed a declining interest in the corporate world (I worked as an IT consultant).

Now, my passion lies primarily in observing and analysing how we humans behave, both from a high-level 'big picture' perspective and from delving into our subjective experiences. I'm hoping to write a book on this topic, a mixture of fiction and auto-biography, so the more people I meet and get to know, the better!

I'm hoping Couchsurfing, which I haven't actually tried yet (I've mostly travelled with a partner, in a van, in hostels, or stayed with workaway hosts) will help add to that catalogue of knowledge and experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My previous Workaway host, and some friends, have recommended it as a useful platform to meet people and find places to stay during my travels. I hope it comes in useful!

I also prefer really getting to know people wherever I go and offering myself in the same vein, to make more meaningful connections and friendships, and learn more about myself and others in the process.

Couchsurfing seems like a great way to achieve this,

Teach, Learn, Share

Absolutely, always...

I can teach climbing, problem solving, technical troubleshooting, English, philosophy... anything I have knowledge in I'm always happy to share.

For my learning, I am most interested in exposing myself to as wide a variety of human perspectives as possible, in the hope that this will lead to practical solutions for positive collective progression.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Myself and all I have to offer.

I'm very handy, able and adaptable in all tasks, always willing to help with anything, always keen to improve my skills and expand my skillset.

Also my perspective on life - if you seem interested, I'll undoubtedly share my thoughts with you and be keen to hear your feedback.
