About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Delicious food and intellectual conversations are my jam. I can nerd out on almost anything.

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name's Ian. I love to meet people who are sweet, caring, and hilarious.

A few things I like to talk about:
Economics
Transit
Futurism
The Simpsons/Futurama
Tautology
Cooking
Literature
Plants

Things I don't like to talk about:
Donald Trump's hair (I actually added this line item before he started running for president- spooky!)
Conspiracy theories
Sports
Reality TV

PHILOSOPHY

Technology is a force for good.

The more strongly you hold any belief, the more you strongly you should question it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing couches and going to meetups. :D Hosting now that I have an adequate spot in Austin

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with a few excellent people, met loads more, and loved every minute of it! Looking for more of the same!

Interests

A ton of nerdy stuff, really. I never have trouble having a pretty deep conversation, I have a lot of interests- I've been called a walking encyclopedia. Love movies. 3D print me a pizza and I'll eat it. Craft beer is neat.

Music, Movies, and Books

John Green FTW DFTBA
I've spent more hours listening to Ke$ha than I'd like to admit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a 101-year-old german warship down the longest lake in the world, met some awesome australians onboard, and got to show them a whole country they hadn't before considered visiting. Serendipitous!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm moderately experienced on the guitar. I've got an encyclopedic knowledge of a broad range of subject, but not for sports, politics, or much popular culture. I've practiced yoga for 5+ years
I would love to learn how to fly a plane, or build anything with my hands.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Terrible puns. Some good vegetarian/vegan cooking High fives. Stories.

I also watercolor paint. Poorly.
I've started sending postcards to hosts.

They tend to be mailed from different countries than I bought them in.
