ABOUT ME

In 2018 I've packed up all my belongings, rented out my place and went on the road of adventure for few years. In 2019 I’ve found my father and his side of the family (after 40 years) and have been visiting them in Russia 🇷🇺, Switzerland 🇨🇭 and Israel 🇮🇱. As well I've revisited Iran for Newruz (New Year) and took lessons of Persian traditional music on instrument call Santour (Hammered Dulcimer).

From March 2020 I was in Greece 🇬🇷 doing Corona isolation with an old friend, waiting for the borders to open up for me to continue on my travels. But in August 2020 I was forced to return to Australia 🇦🇺 and settled in Perth WA for few years.

Now in 2023, I'm back to enjoy cultures of European countries as well as looking for my mother's side of the family.

I would love to visit all Eastern European countries from Finland all the way down to Turkey and of cause I would like to visit friends in Western European countries like Germany, Austria, France Swidden and Spain. If all works out well, it would be good to have a camping van as it gives me freedom to get around...

The only thing is, being an Australian I do not like European winter, so in winter 2018 I visited Cuba 🇨🇺 for 3 months studying traditional music of Bata drums and Orisha Chorale singing. The following winter of 2019 I revisited East Africa, Kenya 🇰🇪 and Uganda 🇺🇬 doing research on local traditional Lyre/Niatiti/Obukano music. This time in 2023 I'm planning to escape winter in the similar way.

As he said: "I HAVE A DREAM!!!"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

☀️I drove a Peugeot 504 station wagon (2 wheel drive only) from England to Ghana across Sahara Desert - 9 month trip. I've visited 50+ countries.
☀️I've had an appendicitis operation without general anaesthetic at age of 15.
☀️I've sailed from Cairns to Darwin in 1988,
☀️I studied music in Zimbabwe in 2004,
☀️I run a gig guide of Multicultural/Folkloric music, Australia country wide and have nearly 17,000 members on my FB page: www.facebook.com/WorldMusicDanceAustralia
