About Me

PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE UNABLE TO HOST FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. WE HAVE PEOPLE LIVING WITH US AND HAVE NO SPACE. WE CAN MEET UP AND SHOW YOU AROUND IF YOU FEEL INCLINED THOUGH.
My wife and I live in the mountains of VT. Originally a couple of flatlanders from Philly (Go Birds!) , we moved here a few years back and immediately fell in the love with the state. We fit in quickly and have been enjoying the remoteness. Everything we used to have to drive hours to get to back home are now right outside our door! Hiking, skiing, fishing, you name it. We are very outdoorsy and interested in being as self sufficient as possible. We grow a lot of our own food, raise chickens, and soon will be keeping bees. My wife is a crafty sort who enjoys making soap and knitting, while I am continually looking for ways to continue moving towards living a life free of unnecessary modern "conveniences".
We have quite a bit of experience with CouchSurfing. We have been guests and hosts and always had a great time meeting people. So come stay with us!

Music, Movies, and Books

music: Built to Spill, Why?, dr dog, pavement, Show me the Body, AJJ, Bob Dylan, Sufjan Stevens, The Front Bottoms, The Hotelier, Jeff Rosenstock, the dead, rancid, general indie stuff. Im a HUUGE Hip Hop nerd: Mac Miller (RIP), Freddie Gibbs, Atmosphere, GUCCI MANE, 2chainz, POS, Eyedea, cLOUDEAD, B. Dolan, Wu-Tang (is for the children). I love talking about music and can go on for days about favorite artists and albums. I also play guitar and enjoy making music in my free time. We've seen hundreds of shows in many states including bonnaroo '13, shaky knees '15 and seeing our favorite band, the felice brothers, 15 times in 7 years. Also love me some DIY shows in dank basements and overgrown backyards.

books: she's was an english major. we have 4 bookshelves filled with books. i say maybe 8 of those books are ones i purchased. the rest are hers. i read what she tells me is good. i like it that way

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rented a scooter in the Philippines, cruised around the mountains, and went cliff jumping

Teach, Learn, Share

We've been hiking for over 10 years now and have amassed quite the inventory, both physically and mentally. Would love to share experiences, and tips and insights.

Absolute music lover and love introducing people to new music.
