About Me

ABOUT ME

Been working at Target HQ for little under 2 years now and want to get back into traveling again as I've been stuck in the corporate rut of working. Trying to see some new sights and meet new people as my work is based in Minneapolis MN. I'm trying to become more outgoing, that's partially why I am doing this. I love the outdoors and hiking. I am really into backpacking and want to do so more frequently and am always looking for new trails.

I have worked on many farms over the years. From horses, chickens, sheep, and alpacas I have seen a lot. (Need a helping hand with anything? :) ) Moved on and worked at a country club for about 6 years, so still staying with my love for the outdoors. Also did a small stint at Estee Lauder for an internship as a production supervisor. It was quite interesting for sure. Now I work at Target HQ managing cosmetic inventory for all 1800 stores! Ask me about it !

I enjoy cooking and have since an early age. Would love to show you some of the dishes I can mix up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am semi new to the couchsurfing crowd, only have surfed for about a month out west. Just trying to get out and explore a little bit; get to know some new people, make some new friends in all places and in all walks of life. Trying to find people with the same interests as me to show me awesome spots in locations I am visiting. Even though I am not in the most perfect place where I can host right now, (send a request I might be able to still :)) my hope is that in the near future I will be able to and return the favor to anyone that hosts me.

Interests

I am a huge fan of films. I love to dissect and analyze them. That is why in my spare time I write and direct my own films as well.
One thing that I enjoy doing that is not very popular is railfanning. There is a huge almost secret art to watching trains which I find fascinating.

I am also an avid fan of the outdoors and hiking. Love to find those secluded spots and just sit to take it all in. I enjoy biking as well and would like to get into mountain biking. Unfortunately where I live right now in NJ, that is practically impossible.

I am really into intense rounds of board games. It all started with a leisurely round of games like ticket to ride or settlers of Catan, but now I can't get enough of all types of board games. Love Star Wars Rebellion, merchants and mauraders, Escape!, Curse of the Island, Machi Koro, just to name a few of my over 150 game collection.

I love to talk about really anything, and love to have a friendly debate on things if we don't agree.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I am a huge fan of John Williams music; especially Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I also like other movie soundtrack composers including Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Danny Elfman, etc. Sometimes I also dabble into classical when I am in the mood.

Movies:
Where to begin... I would be considered a cinefile and I study all movies I watch ( good or bad). My favorite would have to be Star Wars because I just grew up with that and it has been a huge part of my life. But I love Citizen Kane, Psycho, Vertigo, Steven Spielberg's Duel is great, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, The Usual Suspects just to name a few. Get me started on talking about movies and I could continue for quite some time.

Books:
I'm a huge fan of fairy tales and legends/lore. Native American tales and history is very big in my book reading. If I were to have to pick one book to read for the rest of my life I would definitely choose Grimm's fairy tales. There are so many deeper meanings in all of their stories that I could re-read them day after day and still learn something new to apply to my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the ability to write and direct my own school play. It was an amazing experience. What was especially cool about my play was that it was not just on the stage. It took place in various rooms around the school. I would love to tell you about it some time :) All in all just seeing my work come to life and all the people working together as a team to perform something great was astounding.

Also was able to direct my own self written film "Rail Pennies". It even made it to IMBD! Even though it didn't turn out as great as I originally envisioned, and as much work as the whole process was, the interesting stories to come out of it was well worth the effort.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do a fair amount of cooking so I can enlighten you with some of my basic knowledge. Cook you a few meals and the like.
I used to know how to play the piano quite well, but unfortunately with me not practicing I do not know many songs anymore, but I'm willing to play what I still remember!
I am willing to sit back and listen to basically anything. Willing to learn and take in all you have to say!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation and discussions and a fresh cooked meal!
