About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eating. Sleeping. Waiting. Playing.

ABOUT ME

I am an ex-academic linguist and a previous cross-cultural policy promoter who left behind the gregarious expat living to re-discover and pursue a potentially more down-to-earth good doer path as a psychiatric nurse. It all started with my relentless curiosity to see the world since 2010 and now I am synthesising layers of the adventure data while forging a new home here in Brisbane.

The many sides of Lu:

Adventurous side - Traveller. Explorer. Lived across 3 continents. Big time sucker for spontaneity. Get lost occasionally. Limitless - why not. Always down for new experiences; try everything once - just don't die. Competitive eater for spicy food.

Hippie side - Nature lover. Free spirit. Minimalist. Backyard aloe vera farmer. Wild camper under the open sky.

Philosophical side - Quasi-semi-Buddhist. Vipassana meditator. Open thinker.

Real-life side - To be continued...

PHILOSOPHY

1. Minimalism
2. Wholeheartedness
3. Happiness is only real when shared.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many amazing things.

I've volunteered as a carer in aged care facilities and been shared with beautiful life stories from old people, taught English and Mandarin abroad and being interviewed by BBC, skinny-dipped for no particular reasons, hallucinated on a tropical island and danced maniacally afterwards, opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world by interacting with fellow travellers, watched meteor showers and caught shooting stars on a no-man's beach, hanged a tent on a cliff facing a 68-meter waterfall, commenced solo road-trips, trekked the Himalayas, stargazed in the Sahara desert, installed all my IKEA furniture, raised a sweet dog, etc.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's tell stories and pick brains, share some chill-ass music and have conversations deeper than any oceans.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, tips in Mandarin learning, and if my host is brave enough, I attempt to cook. 😉
