Hailing from the gritty shores of Western Long Island, I moved to the East Midwest when I was 8 and have seemingly grown up with Columbus, Ohio and the greater metro area, watching as the city matured from a post-industrial urban "renewal" gut bucket to a thriving entrepreneurial haven for everything from Mom and Pop (and Mom and Mom etc....) pie shops to high end fashion boutiques.

I am somewhat of a fixture in Columbus in the sense that a few local gastropubs know me as the guy who orders two patties on his cheeseburgers. In my spare time I enjoy restoring antique phonographs, driving old cars, making music and collecting vintage clothing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel weekly to acquire new project phonograph machines for restoration and my trips generally take me across the midwest and eastern seaboard, with occasional trips out to Long Island, NY to visit family.

Sometimes I travel with friends to explore new cities and we take our music on the road to play for and hopefully with other musicians. In the past 2 years I have traveled with my close friend, fellow musician and vintage clothing enthusiast Chris, and along with his girlfriend we have visited a number of cities and have met some great people through Couchsurfing.

In planning my trips I usually try to find friends or family along my route to hang with however sometimes that doesn't work out and I have to find a hotel. Given my issues with impersonal hotel stays and that I actually enjoy sleeping on the floor (or couches for that matter), I have decided to create a Couchsurfing profile to hopefully make my trips more meaningful in meeting new people and perhaps having more opportunity to better explore the various locations I visit.
