ABOUT ME

My name is Jake Fenwick, I am from a small town called Carleton Place in Ontario, Canada. Growing up I spent most summers in the Canadian bush portaging and working in my father's Shaker Furniture business. I've always had the travel bug and travelled through North and Central America, Europe (Living in the UK for some time) and now I'm currently in New Zealand! Just finished living here in Hastings NZ working at a wine place and now I'm ready to hit the road again!

I am 21 years old, and am a high school graduate and continue my own business making historical English Warbows (Bows-military archery of the 14-15th century) when I am at home, financing my travels.
I am also the chairman of the Canadian Warbow Society (www.canadianwarbowsociety.com) which keeps me quite busy, both when at home and abroad.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

Well I have always end up doing something similar, hostel for a while until I would meet cool locals and stay with them! So thought it would be a better idea and well... easier to finally give Couchsurfing a go. Always meant to, just haven't until now! I'm hoping I can run into some awesome people who wouldn't mind taking in a stray for a bit! Would love to stay with people who are interested in the world and would enjoy a Canucks company!

The conversely, I love showing my country to others, and the best Ontario has to offer! When I get home again, I would always be keen on a little Ontario tour or at least putting some neat people up who are interested in my part of the country.

Interesses

Ah, many interests, in a broad sense... the awesome world we live in and it's many cultures. Though more precise: English Warbows (Archery), Camping/portaging, good wine and craft beer, hiking, music (Though I play none), people and good conversation, architecture, art... But I am easily interested in many things. Love trying new things, especially from other nations.
