About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring the world and myself.

ABOUT ME

As you can see above, my name is Jeroen Scholten, 31 years old and living Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

You can describe me as an open minded guy with sometimes a naive view on the world. I want to see the good in life, people and things. Currently i'm trying to find myself by travelling, reading and listen too people. The stories behind the people are the ones I like the most. Reads and watch movies a lot. Want to see the world.

I'm really looking and searching for myself and my place on this earth. Travelling is one of the best ways to do this (i think?). I'm a traveller with an unknown amount of curiosity. A pacifist who sees everything bright and hates negativity. I don't care about size, age or color.

Kindness and a smile brings more in life than money and objects do.

Furthermore, I am also working as a tourguide and show mainly Dutch and Belgian tourist around the city by bike.

THE COUCH

I am offering a matras with a pillow and a sleepingbag.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an awesome way of meeting new people. Meeting people in their homes or showing them my house means you see the real nature of them. While travelling, you can hide in a hotel but you won't see the real and deep meaning of culture and people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During my walk to Spain I stayed in Millingen aan de Rijn in the Netherlands. That was awesome. The kindness and the warm feeling of appreciation was great!

While I was backpacking in Norway, i've surfed two times. The people I met were great!

I have also hosted people here in Prague. It is different than being the guest as you have the responsibility to take care of people. I like it!

Interests

Like every Dutch person: biking! Played soccer for 16 years. Like to read classical books, mostly Russian literature.

I also have a huge interest in history and culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2012 Summer Olympics in London. A friend of mine did 1,5 km long-distance swimming.

Walking the Camino de Santiago from my home in the Netherlands to Santiago de Compostella. 2660 kilometers in 108 days. The most beautiful adventure i've been on. The feeling of total freedom is the best feeling i've ever had.

Sailed and worked on a big sailship, the Clipper Stad Amsterdam, from Harlingen, the Netherlands to Frederikstad, Norway. The ship entered the Tall Ships Races 2014.

3 weeks of backpacking through Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Seen and been in the wilderness of the Northpole. Most awesome place I've ever been.
