About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have a passion for empowering individuals to positively change their social trajectory using creative narratives (poetry, images, storytelling).

ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as a mature young woman with a passion for people and poetry, and music, and dancing, and gardens, and art.

I am a performance poet/spoken word artist, with a history of Psychology and Social Work. I want to work towards supporting people make big impacts in society. I want to encourage people to be empowered. I have a keen interest in the use of creative narratives in cultivating empathy.

I am extremely empathetic (maybe some times too much), I love to see people happy, I dislike inequality, not only because the people at the bottom suffer, but because the people at the top are all about the wrong shit.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to smile and laugh as much as possible, eat well, have good friends you treat as family, love large and share.

Telling your truth from you belly is one of the most important things in my life. Owning that truth, maintaining that integrity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because when I travel I like to experience the people and culture of a place. Not just drift in on a tourist bus and fly by all the known locations, tasting just the tip. I want to walk the back streets, say hello to a shop owner and find out their name and story, I want to learn and love a place.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book would have to be 'All About Love' by bell hooks!!! The book discusses aspects of love in modern society. She combines personal anecdotes, psychological and philosophical ideas to make her point. She proposes a transformative love based on affection, respect, recognition, commitment, trust and care, rather than the customary forms stemming from gender stereotypes, domination, control, ego and aggression.

The Alchemist is also another favourite...

Everything Tom Robbins.

Deadwood and Peaky Blinders and Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed my poetry to an audience of 5000 people at a festival in Melbourne, Australia

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share stories, I encourage and support people write poetry, perform poetry, share their poetry, I can support and nurture people to smile and be mindful.

I want to learn how to be patient, I want to learn how to speak Arabic. I want to learn how to make movies and podcasts(video clips, documentaries).

I want to share meals, I want to share connection, I want to share love, I want to share life!!!
