ABOUT ME

We are a French married couple. Erwan is 30 and Valentine is 25. We've been living in Paris for 7 years, during Valentine's studies at the Ecole du Louvre. Once graduated, we've decided to realize our dream of travelling around the world. Our biggest travel experience was settling in South India for a few months in 2011, in Puducherry. Now, we've begun our world-tour from Uzbekistan to Jamaica ; you can follow our itineray and our adventures on our blog, Pondy Ponda !
Erwan is a discrete person, but likes to talk about his passions around a pint of beer at the pub. Valentine is more talkative and dynamic ; that's why we make such a good match.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life, eat as much as you can, keep your eyes wide open, and always be ready for experiment !

Interests

To sum it up, Erwan is fond of zoology, science-fiction, games, and music, especially ska, rocksteady, and rock'n'roll music from the 50's to the 90's. Valentine loves art and history, cooking, and the same kinds of music. But above all, these days, we enjoy travelling, meeting new people and cultures, and contemplating the beauties of our planet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : rockabilly, rocksteady, oldies, ska, 2-tone, punk-rock, oi!, psychobilly... but also open to some trip-hop, progressive rock, hip-hop, or anything that will pease our ears.
Books : the great masters of fantasy, from Tolkien to George Martin, but also French classics, such as Victor Hugo or Théophile Gautier, a bit of SF, with Philip K. Dick or William Gibson, or historic investigations, from Peter Tremayne to Elena Arseneva... an exhaustive list would be too long !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When we're asked what is our favourite place on Earth, we don't have to think too much ; we've been lovestruck by Viñales in Cuba, where we spent our honeymoon. This little valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, far from the pollution, the sounds of modern life (no honks, no cell phones...), and inhabited by some of the nicest people we've ever met.
We also fell in love with the Big Temple of Thanjavur, a medieval temple dedicated to Siva in Tamil Nadu, South India. Since a thousand years, people go there every day, to make offerings to the gods, rest under the shade of trees, contemplate the marvelous paintings of the mandapa, or chat around a cup of tea. A very peaceful yet alive place, and so beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

Valentine is ready to share her cooking experience, by teaching you recipes from her native island (Reunion Island, in Indian Ocean), traditional French meals, or Indian food, and is always eager to learn how to make new food !
Erwan is very creative and likes to invent things, especially games... always ready to have fun !
