About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have fun everyday and to throw myself in the deep end when the opportunity presents itself. Its the best way to find adventures!!

ABOUT ME

Jules - I love nature, surfing, hiking, walking, running, jumping, swimming....I'm happy with life and think I have done some interesting things that not many people have done. I like to keep fit because it makes me feel ALIVE and means I can do more fun stuff without getting tired, like surf for 5 hours straight or hike all day. I think I am pretty easy to get along with and a good communicator. I like to tell people the truth about things, even if they might not like it. Work is not important to me. Being myself is important to me. Jess, my family, my health, nature, my happiness, these are the things that are important to me.

Jess - I love catching up with friends and going on picnics, riding local rail trails, and cooking up a feast to enjoy together. I am also learning Italian at the local community school. I'm not as good as Julian at surfing but I'm happy to head out with a foam board and have some fun.

PHILOSOPHY

Im just moving through life at the moment, trying to have fun and getting the most out of everything I experience. And surfing as much as possible....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted a bunch of great people already and surfed our way across part of Europe. We have made lots of new friends and learnt a lot since starting. Now we want to keep hosting travellers when we can and couch surfing when we travel, forever!

If we host you, its because we think you seem interesting or nice and want to get to know you and show you our country. Not because you want a free bed so you can save your money to keep traveling.

If we are very busy at the time when you want to stay, we may decline you because we would not be able to spend enough time with you. I think it would be more value to you to stay with someone else who can offer you a better experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had a few travelers stay with us and its been great. We took them surfing(waves) and to some places we think are interesting but not on the tourist route. We tried to tell them some cool places to see in and around the city. We realy enjoy sharing our experiences and learning from theirs. Cooking for each other is the best bit :) We really love spending time with our surfers or hosts and getting to know them. We have had some amazing experiences with our hosts in Europe. They have taken us to some unique, non touristic places which is what we like best. Spending time with our hosts has given us some great new ideas for our future surfers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Why only one thing!?

Seeing the inside of a wave.

Surfing with dolphins, seals, whales and sharks.

Hiking for days in the mountains and not seeing another person.

More amazing sunrises and sunsets than I can count....

Teach, Learn, Share

Presuming that I have some knowledge worth teaching does not seem right... Some people ask me to teach them to surf, but there is nothing to teach. You just need to practice lots!

I would love to learn another language, fluently. Everyday I like to observe other people and learn from their behaviour.

Sharing my home is not enough!? Ok! I will share my cat Toby, he loves couch surfers laps for sitting on. Be careful he doesn't eat your dinner though ;)
