About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding my path, while helping out my family.

ABOUT ME

1st off, I don't drink or go clubbing, period.
2nd, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist Christian (SDA/Adventist). What does this mean? Go down to "Philosophy" for an idea.
I don't drink coffee, but I'll gladly join your cup of coffee with my cup of tea at any cafe.

ah, btw, I've got 3 blogs:
1. from my time in Austria (the 2nd time) - right before leaving for Korea: http://joannsbogi2.blogspot.com
2. from my 1st day in Korea til now: http://joanninkorea.blogspot.com
3. from my 1st day in Poland til June 2016: http://joanninpoland.blogspot.com

PHILOSOPHY

As a Seventh-day Adventist Christian (SDA/Adventist). This means,
- I keep the Sabbath holy (or try to) (i.e. go to church on Saturday, don't do anything job-related from Friday sunset - Saturday sunset, etc.)
- I believe Jesus Christ is coming again, causing the biggest family reunion in the history of eternity.
- I also follow a diet that lacks pork and seafood (just like the diet of the strict Jews and Muslims). I consider myself a "flexitarian;" I'm always open-minded to healthful eating, even if I'm not ready to completely give up meat yet . . . yet. ^.~
- I also believe in everyone having the right to choose what they want to believe for themselves. I won't shove my religion or way of thinking down your throat. But if you ask, I'll answer. Everyone has free will.

For the sake of saving space (and sparking curiosity), I'll leave it there.

Music, Movies, and Books

I honestly don't know what's out now. I've been really out of touch with the media recently; but generally:

Movies: Action/Adventure, Suspense/Thriller, anything exciting that'll also make me think & learn something.

Music: Latin, Celtic, Oldies, Classical, Instrumental (LOVE The Piano Guys!!!), Traditional/Folk/World, etc.

Books: 1. The Bible
2. Anything else that can teach me while getting me lost in a great story, be it true or not.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been on an excavation in Israel - twice.
Gone Hang-gliding for extra university credit in Georgia, USA.
Gone Scuba-diving off the Red Sea.
Visited each continent except Antarctica & Australia (REALLY want to change that)
Learned several things backwards:
- Learned Chess before I understood Checkers.
- Rode a camel (up Mt. Sinai in Egypt) before ever getting on a horse (on Udo, by Jeju Island, South Korea).
- Learned to drive manual before being introduced to automatic.
- Learned how to kayak a bit before ever getting into a canoe.
- I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now . . .

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I thought it was a given, but apparently it's not: OBSERVE YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES!!! Use your peripheral vision. Take notice of things that are out of place/new. Read the fine print. Come on, you have your senses: use them!

Learn: My mother used to tell me to learn everything I can, 'cause I'll never know when it might come in handy. I'm willing to learn anything/everything within reason and the freedom of morality.
