About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Riding bikes and reading books in the sun; putting on shows and writing about it while following the Tao. Constant education and contact with spirit.

ABOUT ME

I am a writer, teacher, musician, and performer, leading a blessed life of play most of the time, playing piano for the funniest Improv troupe in town and also the sickest spiritual theatre band, while also performing poetry, monologues, and stories I've written for the latter. For survival and enjoyment, I teach English and Core Humanities at UNR, with the belief that good writing and empowering ideas can provide the greatest wealth of inspiration. I like to remain pretty balanced and peaceful by going for long contemplative walks and bike rides, exercise for the body and mind.

My last name is Taglieber...German for "Daylover". I wake up every morning grateful for the day and simply to be alive on the glorious earth.

PHILOSOPHY

Taoist presence. Self-reliance. Honesty. A journey toward unconditional love while breaking down my own walls.

We're all brothers and sisters on a beautiful planet, a mother who we need to return to its proper place in our heart and mind.

Surrender over control. Faith and spirit over the material. Trust over rationality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the concept and spirit of couchsurfing connects us with optimal experience. Whenever I travel, I couldn't have imagined not meeting the amazing souls I have while. Whenever I host, it's a true joy to share our home, convert visitors into friends, and show off this glizty and exciting gal I call Reno.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some good friends of mine that I collaborate with in the local theater/comedymusic scene swore by it, and I started surfing in 09 and hosting shortly thereafter. I can't sing the praises of CS enough, as it never fails to provide the magical and unique.

Interests

I find freedom in bicycling anywhere and everywhere. Riding breeds self-reliance, which, I think, is a crucial virtue to work toward. I read, I write, and participate in local theater and comedy shows in a variety of ways. I love jamming on the guitar and the keys.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Big Lebowski, Glengarry Glen Ross; The Beatles, The Kinks; Ulysses, Franny and Zooey

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a mountain. Jumped in rivers. Grew up in the vast green of PA and lived in the dwarfing isolation of the Nevada desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

The never-ending process of reading, writing, learning, and understanding experience. The growing process never stops unless you allow yourself to be too comfortable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An awesome house close to downtown Reno. Our neighborhood has the perfect combination of the relaxed residential but close to the urban core. We have a backyard garden, great for chill-axing in the warm weather or your random meditation. We might have rehearsals at our house during your stay, so you might get some entertainment and also some new friends. We're pretty connected to the artist and Theatre community here, so there's always something unexpected and randomly cool going on, which perfectly describes Reno.
