Overview
About Me
My husband and I live in a log cabin at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. We are off -grid with a little solar power, have a garden, cut ice for refrigeration, and often have adventures getting to town and back. We have five children and five grandchildren, and spend as much time with them as our and their busy lives allow. We enjoy long canoe trips into Quetico (the Provincial Park north of the BWCAW), are both involved in emergency medicine, and share life with our big dog - a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd rescue dog who is a very good guard dog, but friendly once he knows you are welcome.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I prefer a home to a hotel, enjoy getting the feel of a place from the local people, and live on a small budget that doesn't accommodate hotel prices very well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After 43 years, reconnected with the daughter I gave up for adoption when I was 18.
