About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel more! And when not traveling, to meet and host travelers; building a network for when I find the time to travel.

ABOUT ME

I am a happy person. I enjoy nature and diving and always try to make the best out of every situation.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is that you only live life once, so as cliche' as it sounds; live life to the fullest.
I also believe that life is to short to be upset-- only you can determine your mood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I moved to Florida in May, 2019. I currently cannot host, however I am always happy to meet up and go surfing, SUPing, or just grab a beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experiences with couchsurfing have all been great! I have been lucky to meet some really cool and fun people.

Interests

Surfing, hiking, SUPing, free-diving, backpacking, bouldering, reading, bodyboarding shore breaks, karaoke (although my singing ability is zero), fishing, sailing, and most recently: climbing trees.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: action, comedy, Will Ferrel movies, occasional chick-flick, and Sci-fi.
Books: Science Fiction, some Fantasy, and recently I have been reading more on food and nutrition.
Music: I love 90's music. I also enjoy some dubstep, classic rock, rock, etc. I like most music except for country and tween wave.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing amazing thing I’ve done (that I will never forget) is getting my first in-and-out stand-up barrel.
With all the hype on surfing, everyone has the opportunity to see the inside of a barrel simply by going on YouTube or looking in a surf magazine. However, the greatest photographer can never truly capture the feeling of being inside a barrel. Whether that barrel is 2 feet or 10 feet, nothing can reproduce the feeling of dropping down a 6-8 foot (Hawaiian scale) wave and being able to feel the power as the ocean crashes down around you; knowing that at any moment you may become subjected to that uncontrollable force.
The whole experience only lasted a few seconds, but I remember every little detail of the ride as though it were an eternity. I swear I could not stop smiling for the longest time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach surfing, stand up paddling, and kayaking. I still love to share my passion of the ocean with others and to see people enjoy what the ocean has to offer.
I would also love to share my knowledge of the Hawaiian islands with visitors: tell them places to go, see, and stay that aren't listed on most tourist books. I also have a good knowledge of surf breaks on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai.
I love to sail, but I still have much to learn; I would appreciate learning more on sailing from anyone who would like to show me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Don't be intimidated by my response rate (which is now 0%), it used to be around 90% before my move. If you leave a good message I will most likely get back to you even if it's to tell you that I can't host. I am still happy to go on some explorations/adventures even if I can't host.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Australia, Belize, Canada, Germany, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
