About Me

Hello I'm 69 and I'm English. Originally I come from Worthing, Sussex, England. I came to Denmark for a holiday in 1984 and never went back home. I have a nice clean guest room, with a single bed and a comfy sofa that can be used as a single bed in the living room. Please note the single bed sleeps one and not two. I also have 2 large single mattresses, so if you are two and don't mind the mattresses on the floor, your most welcome to stay. You can use all facilities in the apartment. There's internet or if you have a iPad or ThinkPad, there's wifi. There's also a nice little stereo in the guest room which if you so wish, you can plug your mobile into and listen to your own music. There's clean towels and bedding.

My girlfriend lives in Copenhagen and we both visit each other, so preferably my flat would suit a girl.

When I was young I had a great time hitch hiking around Europe, I met some very nice people, I hope I can also help others out now

I have always found if one travels on a Wednesday, it a little cheaper, maybe its because its the middle of the week, and travel companies need to fill the seats, also book in advance. Here is a good travel links for you,

www.kombardoexpressen.dk is a nice cozy coach ride, and if you can plan your trip in advance very cheap, recommend you make a dinner box as the boat is very expensive.

www.flexbus.dk has cut down its services, Its also a cheap journey,

www.fleetbus.dk The coaches can be cheaper than the trains and if you have a students card, then you get a cheaper price,

DSB.dk if you can plan in advance log on to www.dsb.dk and go down the menu to orange billdet, you may be lucky and get a cheaper ticket, i normally open all 3 at the same time, and find the cheapest. if you get into problems trying to buy a ticket then contact me on FB and i can walk you through the process.

If you get into problems, FB me or whatsapp you have my name.

The Apps Shelter is a nice little App to have on your mobile. Cyclists and Campers. This will tell you where you can camp for free anywhere in Denmark. This is a very good App to have.

Remember those that have a green tick beside their name are safe hosts, Also a host cannot see your reference of them, until host and traveler have given a reference, If you get into any form of difficulty and your near me call, get me on whatsapp or FB both places Jonathan Upward

If we don't meet up, i hope you have a great day time in Denmark.

Teach, Learn, Share

the greatest education in the world is life. The day we stop learning, is the day we are ready to die

What I Can Share with Hosts

Respect, and a safe place to stay.

There's clean bedding and towels as well, If you need to do laundry there's a washing machine here, there shouldn't be a problem, there never has been, up to date. None of my guests has ever gone hungry.

I prefer none smokers as its a nice 3 room flat,

There is a lot to see in Silkeborg, , if you love long walks, then Silkeborg is a lovely place for you, also you can make a picnic box flask of coffee/ tea sandwiches. There's 3 museums , a nice boat ride to HimmelBjerg, if you have a students card, that will help you out a great deal, in many places of attraction.

Århus is just around the corner it don't matter if you go by train or bus it takes the same time, train is more comfy and once again if you have a students card it will save you a little. I recommend visiting the Old City thats a great day out, then there's the town as well.

If i dont hear from you, have a great time in Denmark, one thing you should remember if you are staying with a male host, make sure they have a tick beside their name, be safe and remember when you give someone a reference, they cannot see what you have written, until both submitted a reference for each other.

If any lady gets into difficulty do not be afraid to ring no matter what the time is.
