About Me

I am a traveler at heart, but have picked an occupation where travel is often between my desk and a lab. I circle around the sun with my dog, and might be found dog sitting for someone else's dog. I basically enjoy everything that keeps me busy. I mentor/coach a robotics team, enjoy photography, love to cook and try new brewskis, and sing/play music really loud while driving down the road.

Overall, just a dude that realizes time is short, and wants to take advantage of every second of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am Couchsurfing to hear and share stories. I like to travel with my dog and simply get lost to find out where I am. Interacting with other people/strangers is a thrilling encounter to me. My perspective is that there are so many routes in life to go on, and it is impossible for one person to experience all of them together. But, if other people are doing those other routes in life, and those stories are shares, it is as if we all get to experience that joy together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read all kinds of books, but I have not read much in a long time. I cannot make the time for it. I will find scary, or science-fiction movies, to watch ever so now and then. Music, however, I will listen to just about everything that has a guitar in it. I absolutely love going to concerts, especially if it is for a band I have never heard of before.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove 2700 miles to someplace in Canada (Bella Coola), just to turn around when I hit the end of the road.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like technical things, so I like to teach students how to make robots (for world domination, of course)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in an area that is a good hub for adventure-seekers. That might be the selling point. Above all, and what means the most to me, is engagement and interest in who you are, where you have been, where you are going, and what motivates you. There are many ways to make visits enjoyable, so I do what I can to be flexible.
