ABOUT ME

IG: jmcdonough89

Im a passionate machinist and I travel when I can to explore new cultures and meet new people. I tend to avoid tourist attractions and some of the best travel interactions I have had have come from people I’ve met through Couchsurfing. It’s just a wonderful community and I’d love to immerse myself more.

PHILOSOPHY

I really think that life is more fulfilling when you have a sense of community and pursue a life of service.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel to meet people with different perspectives, and to learn about the culture and history of a place. To be honest, landscapes don't do much for me. The joy of a travel experience for me always comes from the wonderful interactions I have with the people I meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and surfed for years now, and I incorporate it into every journey I take. If I'm unable to be hosted, I will always try and at least meet up with a member for coffee and to exchange travel stories and cultures. I've never had a bad experience, there are some truly amazing people on here.

Interests

I’m very interesting in machining and hands on projects. I love old machinery, cycling, and folding bicycles.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as music I really enjoy folk, classic rock, or pop. I really just like to relax when listening to music, and can't stand Rap or Metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Viewed the Northern Lights while living out of a station wagon in an Alaskian winter.

Teach, Learn, Share

My passion is making and fixing things and I would love to to share eachothers skills and techniques. We all have talents that are made to be shared. Knowledge belongs to the world!

What I Can Share with Hosts
