About Me

*** I'm back in Airlie Beach with my boat ***

Hello my lovely couchsurfers! I'm Josh (Noosa's most fun couchsurfing host ;-) ) I'm actually living on my yacht now in Noosa River. I've just come back from a loooong sailing and kite surfing trip to Airlie Beach/Whitsundays and happy to be back in sunny Noosa.

Unfortunately you can't ride my garage skate ramp now I'm living on the boat, but you can come for a river cruise, catch a fish, watch the sunset, and swim at the beach.

About the boat... You get your own bed on my little floating house. I normally have the boat in the middle of town, a couple minutes walk from the main tourist street. You can get off the back of the boat and walk a few steps to land. The beach is 5 mins away. It's pretty easy living with a great view. I guess the only bad part is having to walk to the public toilet and an outdoor shower but the weather is normally great.

To get any weird stuff out of the way... I saw some strange profiles saying they are nudists or offer to share their bed. Okay, if they say so first, it's people's choice. It's definitely not my priority so don't worry about that. I like girls but I'm happy to host guys too.

(Ich kann Deutsch sprechen. Nicht perfekt und meistens scheiße von Backpackers. Ich habe ein paar Mal in Deutschland gewohnt.)

Travelling can get tiring moving place to place. If you think we'd make a good match and have a nice time then it's worth asking to see if I'm free. I hope you can get a real travel experience, not another tour! Maybe make a friend and recharge your travel batteries.

You must be able to help pull in an anchor, and your feet will get wet (it's a boat) but if those things were an issue then I don't think we are the right people and shouldn't hang out anyway 😛. Help keep the sand and saltwater out of the boat and I'm happy.

------------------

I'm pretty active so I like similar people. It makes me happy to see people get out of their comfort zone and do things they have never done before with a huge smile on their face, like trying to surf or going spearfishing. If we connect then I think you'll find me very kind, caring, adventurous and super fun!

So we match each other, I like hosting people that can have a laugh, can throw back any trash talk, but are still capable of deeper conversations. Don't take whatever I say too seriously. I may have different political views than you but enjoy my views being challenged. So don't be a baby and get offended, they are only ideas! If you want to have a tea towel fight or just punch me in the arm then that sort of behavior is totally acceptable :-P I hope to meet easy going people.

I'm pretty good with this internet business thing I've been doing and I have free time when I choose, so if you're up for some fun then we should do something together.

Noosa has lots to offer. We can go surfing together, perhaps snorkelling/spearfishing, regular fishing, play frisbee on the beach or chill out and watch a movie, pretend we can play guitar or cook something. There's the national park too which is really beautiful.

Just a tip - Noosa is a popular place. I get quite a few requests. Have an interesting profile that tells me about you and I'm much more likely to want to host you. If your interests are friends, family, travel, chatting, music, movies, well, everyone likes that, please tell me more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've travelled a lot myself and like meeting up with other travellers. When I meet those ones where we become instant best friends then it really makes me smile to think about them again. Even if saying goodbye leaves a little sad hole.

I'm looking for people to connect with and share experiences. If you just want to use stuff from my kitchen, for me to clean up after you, have a "free" place to stay and do your own thing like a hotel then perhaps you should go exactly there. I don't want to be negative but it happens and I think it's fair, couchsurfing isn't charity organization for backpackers with no money.

I dislike smoking, sitting on your phone and people who aren't willing to try new things and live on the edge a little. Sorry, I'm bored with the regular life many people live. If you can push me out of my own comfort zone then that would make me happy. The codeword is mango. Use it in your request so I know you've read my profile.

I expect you to put some effort in and give back in some way. For example, bring some life to the place and be a bit (or totally) crazy, make some adventure, have some interesting conversations or clean up a little without being asked. It's not about the money but a one-sided exchange of free accommodation or eating my food doesn't feel nice.

Most of all, sorry to mention those negatives, some people tire me but I love meeting those special ones that I still keep in touch with.

If you're German I hope you can teach me a bit more. I give you the choice to be a positive or negative influence, but you guys always teach me the bad stuff so I'm more than likely to insult you or say totally inappropriate things in German :-P (I really do like you guys though!)

Interests

I'm very active and into lots of outdoor hobbies, kitesurfing, sailing, surfing, fishing, 4wding, spearfishing, paragliding, bodyboarding, sailing, mountain biking and getting up to mischief. I have a skateramp in the garage. I'm into powerlifting and my goal is a 200kg squat. Of course I like travelling too.

Have a nerdier side of bitcoins, nootropics, video games, euro board games and fantasy books (Man, really cool stuff there).

I like cooking tasty food, mostly asian/indian. I try to play guitar but liking fast punk makes playing difficult.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Fantasy, espionage, success mindsets.

Music: Mostly punk, a bit of reggae, blues, rock. (Rise Against, Sublime, A Wilhelm Scream, Strung Out, Lagwagon, Pennywise, NOFX, Dead Kennedys, Propagandhi, Rancid, Refused, Sublime, Cat Empire, Wizo). Some German rap like Samy Deluxe, Sido, Money Boy, Beginner, K.I.Z., RAF Camora.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only had a real job for 3 weeks in my life but can still do whatever I like.

Teach, Learn, Share

• I can take you spearfishing. To be honest, only 1 other person has caught something and he'd been spearing before, it's not easy but fun. No one complains when I catch the dinner though, and there's a good chance of seeing some turtles.

• We can do some acroyoga. It's yoga mixed with acrobatics. I find it lots of fun and it's a good workout for me.

• I'm a very good at doing squats :-P I can fix your squat form, no problem. It sounds weird but I train it 3 times per week. You can sit on my back and I can squat you, even 2 of you at the same time if you really want me to.

• I can show you some basic jujitsu or have a friendly boxing match (no hard punches!). Always a fun time where it seems I'm the one that gets hurt.

• And...I'm good at convincing people to stop telling themselves bullshit that stops them doing so many things in life. People have way too many excuses. Live a bit. Try new things. Have fun.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can do all the water stuff like fishing, surfing, spearfishing, swim in the rock pools, maybe even go sailing. BBQ on the boat or at the park is easy.
