About Me

Dear Couch Surfers,

My name is Julian Gabriel Ward. I was born and raised between South Philadelphia and Center City Philadelphia in an area called Bella Vista. I am the youngest of three siblings. I have two older sisters that I love dearly, Racquel and Chanel. I have wonderful parents Tony and Sandy. My father is a Professional Photographer and College Professor (www.tonywardstudio.com). My mother started her career modeling before going into business with my father. She is also an interior designer and works in retail management (www.sandywarddesign.com).

As a young boy I was always adventurous in the city of brotherly love. I took on a lot of fun hobbies such as, sports, the arts, and gaming. I took on a very intensive youth soccer career. I played for numerous soccer clubs in Eastern Pennsylvania. This was one of my favorite passions. I played in High School and also played NCAA Division III Soccer in College.

I graduated from Penn State in 2013. Shortly after College I became a full-time Professional Soccer Coach. I've coached for prominent youth soccer clubs in Eastern Pennsylvania. I've also coached at the High School, and Collegiate levels, as well as, managing a soccer facility, Sofive in Elkins Park, PA. I still touch the ball from time to time, the best therapy in the world!

I've traveled many parts of the world including, England, Spain, Israel, and Bermuda. I've traveled up and down the east coast, as well as, traveling to Puerto Rico, Arizona, Hawaii, and California. I want to continue to travel the world and make new friendships and further expand the horizons.

In early 2019 I became a homeowner. I currently rent a section of my home to a tenant. I created a garden apartment in the basement where I live where I will be hosting couch surfers and Airbnb guests. My home is in Elkins Park, PA which is a 15-20 minute car ride to center city Philadelphia. I know the city like the back of my hand so I can assist travelers and I'd be happy to share my experience with Philadelphia, the history, the cheesesteaks, and of course philly's love for our sports teams!

I'm very spiritual, out-going , friendly, and I take pride in helping others as much as I can! God Bless

Interests

I am currently a professional soccer coach, but I’d love to learn more about business development, business management, modeling, and possibly becoming a writer. I would love to pick up an instrument again and learn a second language. I love dancing, visual arts, taking trips, exercising, and eating healthy. I also love history and try to learn something new everyday.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've coached youth soccer athletes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach soccer, love to learn new things, and can share about my life in Philadelphia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the life of a Philadelphian and what it’s like to be born and raised in Philly. I can share what I’ve learned through my journey in life, through the good, the bad, and the ugly. I can share what I do on a daily basis to better myself spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I know so much about soccer and football, I love to talk sports. I try my best to be helpful to others everyday.
