About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For a minute, I lost myself...

ABOUT ME

Well, I graduated college and wasn't really sure what to do with myself. So I decided to move to Russia, and travel in my free time. Sometimes I miss US things like breakfast burritos and good beer, but Russia's been a great adventure. I like meeting diverse people from interesting backgrounds - I guess that's why travelling attracts me so much. I love music, and coffee.

PHILOSOPHY

Life needs a soundtrack.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I originally heard about Couchsurfing through a college friend, and the idea of this free, altruistic, sharing grassroots community really interested me. I've traveled all over the world using couchsurfing, and I've never had a bad experience. It's the greatest way to meet the coolest people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed Europe and the Middle East, and have met a lot of people through Couchsurfing in my home, Moscow.

Interests

Russian, microbrewed beer (especially IPAs), rock climbing, international politics, Russian literature, and music.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite bands are Tool and Radiohead, but I listen to a huge variety of alternative/indie/rock/rap/hip-hop. Some good groups: LCD Soundsystem, Fiest, Miike Snow, Death Cab for Cutie, Kid Cudi, Eminem, The Black Keys, TV on the Radio, Kanye West, Jay-Z (or both together, Watch the Throne was amazing), the Weeknd, Rage Against the Machine, and many more. As far as books: I've read a lot of Russian and American literature. Right now I'm (trying) to read Harry Potter in Russian.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently: watching a crowd of tens of thousands of Russians - a population politically docile for the last few decades - actively protest for their political freedoms in the center of Moscow. It was breathtaking...

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure about teaching, but I have some talents I can share. Music, English, Russian, cooking, adventure stories.....I'm open to most things. I love learning new languages, so if you know any - teach me some useful phrases!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands Antilles, Russian Federation, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom
