About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the opposite of wanderlust.

ABOUT ME

Well, my name is Keisar! I decided to pick up one day and go on an adventure by moving to the Bay Area. I did Occupy (Berkeley), Oakland, SF, and San Jose. After I got gentrified out of there, I came to Portland. I'm interested in getting to know the kind of people who are trying to make the most of themselves, to really be the best they can be in every area of their lives.

PHILOSOPHY

You act naturally according to the principles of your character. This is why philosophy is so important. In understanding yourself, your flaws and merits and priorities, acting the way you wish to act becomes effortless.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was a Host in SWFL. Then I was a Surfer there and around the SF Bay area. Then a Host in San Jose, now a Host here. That's the short version.

Interests

Doing new things, long walks through the city in the middle of the night, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, tree climbing, cooking, good conversation, good music

  • acting
  • cooking
  • music
  • rock climbing

Music, Movies, and Books

Philosophy on all three counts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Uprooted myself on a moment and moved to where I always knew I should be.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make a bow-tie out of a dollar bill, does that count? Also, I have an extensive knowledge about First Person Shooters.

Lately i've been studying hard on permaculture and all things commune. I'm working on starting a secular eco-monastery in Detroit (don't hate, it'll be warm and awesome soon) and eager to practice or discuss all of it.

If you're interested in participating, Morning Ceremony is a good place to start. Every morning we wake up an hour before dawn. Fifteen minutes before sunrise we gather together and sit together to contemplate our personal list of virtues (Virtues we wish to exemplify - mine are contemplation, dexterity, embodiment, fastidiousness, grace, honor, integrity, progression, rationality, resilience, romance, serenity, sincerity, stewardship, thrift, tolerance, and will). At dawn we greet the day by breaking bread together.

I'll be doing some of this every morning with or without anyone else and you're invited, nay encouraged, to join.
