"A professional exchange student" is what a friend of mine called me :p I had thought studying in 7 different countries would have me broken and sent right back home, but surprisingly for me, the more I travel the more I yearn for. I like to leave comfort in pursuit of some greater things in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The only way we can progress is by discovering and learning. What better way to accomplish that but by meeting new people in new places who could add a new dimension to your life. It's been four years since I've started couchsurfing. I won't lie, I've had a few horrifying experiences at the very beginning, but the fact that I'm still here proves the great ones outnumbered them heavily! :)

Interests

What I enjoy the most during travelling are the moments when I get to sit with a drink in my hand, good company on my side, and a scenic view in front of me. My tongue has recently developed the need for tasting new dishes... Made by "normal" people though, not by restaurants! :D I often find myself in the kitchen making a meal and answering "Absolutely no clue!" when people ask what I'm making. So I'm always excited to find people who like to make a mess in the kitchen. Sadly, I don't play any instruments but some of my favourite moments of my stay in Spain where those when I enter my home, or wake up to the sound of music that my flatmates make! But the greatest ones where those when I followed the percussion group of my Catalan friends on tours. Check out "Correfoc"!

Music, Movies, and Books

Just about anything that catches my ear or eye... Like "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"! :D Or "Norwegian Wood" by Murakami on the contrary. And "The Office"... Gotta mention "The Office". The sarcastic, awkward humour is priceless! One of my favourite movies at the moment (yes it changes) is The Grand Budapest Hotel. The quirky way the movie was directed and the quirky characters have gotten to me. I am very into Game of Thrones, but who isn't? Music? Menahan Street Band, Nu, The Sound Defects, Quantic and Guts are the guys who get me going these days. I'm in a period of great appreciation for trip-hop :D But anything goes...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Rode a quad in a dessert in a pitch-black night
- Slept on a rooftop of a hostel in January
- Spent a night on the floor of an antique shop owned by a Saharian nomad learning to play gimbre
- Snowboarded in Sahara down the highest dune in Morocco in the face of sunset
- Hand-fed fish in the middle of a crystal clear sea
- Hitch-hiked on a motorbike trailer in North Africa
- Studied in 7 different countries
- Managed to finish a semester while actually traveling for 6 months

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm in the process of learning Spanish... Slow, slow process :D And yeah, my new year's resolution for the 10th year in a row is to learn to dance...

*I can finally edit this section and proudly say I graduated LVL 3 of swing dance! Always glad to pass on the skills.
