ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Kevin and I've been living around the world in different places for 11+ years now, so you could say I feel like a citizen of the world. Life is all about the choices we make and through a series of choices I ended up in different places and embarking on my travel journey. How I ended up being a nomad is a long story worth sharing :)So we all come to this website for some reason, well I would like to meet people who are worth talking to and would like to exchange ideas, philosophies, information, languages, cultures, and anything worth talking about and who could also become a good friend. I like talking to people from all over the world and learning as much as I can from them, so let's talk and learn some things from each other. I want to continue learning Italian because I lived in Italy for almost 7 years. I am also Italian because my mom is from Italy. I can help you out with your English. I strive to meet the good people in this world and make lasting meaningful friendships. I am the type of friend who is always there for you, who will listen to you, and who will try to help. I feel that many friendships have let me down, so I look for and I try to be a very good and meaningful friend. Here's a little about myself. I was born in the state of Michigan in America and grew up in a town outside the city of Lansing. I have always been very interested in cultures ever since I started visiting my relatives in Italy where my mother is from, so I take pride in my Italian heritage and I also have dual citizenship. Write "Mindfulness" in your request or I'll know you didn't read my profile. I am very respectful and open to other people's customs, beliefs, and cultures. I am a very smart and vibrant person. I have dreams and ambitions in life. Someday I hope to be very successful, so I like to study and read a lot because knowledge can only further you more in life. There is always something to learn. I have a good sense of humor and love sharing a good laugh. Some things I enjoy are traveling, helping people, learning new things, trying new foods, taking long walks, meeting new people, going on adventures exploring, exploring new places and trying to see what interesting things I can see and find, learning about other cultures and languages, eating a nice meal with people I enjoy being around, watching good movies or tv shows, making friends, meeting people that don't judge me without getting to know me first, making lasting meaningful friendships, meeting all the good people in this world, staying active, hiking, psychology, sociology, philosophy, biology, reading, art, music, fishing, relaxing, enjoying life, taking a drive somewhere nice, learning about other people's view on life, swimming, camping, nature, and seeing the true beauty of the world and everything it has to offer.

I am also looking for anyone who is cultural and enjoys the things I like.
I am a very open minded person, I try not to judge anyone. Explain yourself and I will understand. I am the kind of friend who you can rely on and who will always be there. I want to meet friends from all over the world. Want to know more talk to me and you may find yourself intrigued.

I feel that many people in the world are very close minded and ignorant towards other people's way of life and what they believe in, but if we can all just get over our fears of learning the unknown and choose to accept people and learn their ways we can all be much better and happier people. Fear stops many people from learning things. I choose to not fear the unknown and I try to learn as much about things as I can. I am here to open my mind learn from others and become a better person as a result. So don't be afraid ask me anything and tell me anything I am open to learn and hear something new.

I think if you get to know me you will find that I am one of the smartest, cleverest, open minded, truthful, and nicest people you will ever meet. I consider myself a very big intellectual person. I can talk endlessly for hours about life, the world, people, and anything, so let's have an intellectual conversation. I am a very open minded person I doesn't matter to me if you white, black, orange, purple, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, gay, lesbian, bisexual or anything. If you a person I am willing to listen to you and accept you for who you are. What is on the inside is what counts. I am by no means perfect. I have my flaws. I can be way too nice to people and that can be a bad thing sometimes. I am extremely honest and I tell people the truth and sometimes the truth can hurt people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couchsurfing, so I am trying to get started. I want to try out couchsurfing by both hosting and surfing. It's such a great idea and has become a part of my life and the couchsurfing spirit is really like it's subculture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many people and surfed in many different places and I had a great time and an amazing experience. I have also met countless people through CS and have always had a positive experience.

Interests

I am pretty much up for anything, but to name a few things: Having long a really good conversations with people, that make you question things and think about things you normally wouldn't. Eating and cooking a big meal together with friends, sharing these kinds of moments are always great. Going out and seeing nature. Meditation, Mindfulness, Yoga. Learning about anything and everything. TED and TED talks. Watching really good movies or tv shows and then picking them apart and discussing and analyzing them with friends. Reading a good book. Traveling, meeting people from different parts of the world. Learning about new cultures and places. I'm always trying to read new things and absorb new information. Life is all about discovery and growth. Swimming, hiking, and being out in nature is fun. Making people laugh. Telling really awesome and entertaining stories to people.Too many things to list, just come and get to know me and you will be surprised.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am open to and like all kinds of music. I like Fusion and Alternative music a lot, but will listen to about anything if it sounds good. I have to admit I have a guilty pleasure for good Hip Hop and Rap music.

- I'm building a playlist of Rap from all over the world and also a playlist of the absolute best music around, so help me add to them.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, XX, Gorillaz, Snoop Dog, Daft Punk, Beatles, Chinese Man, Imagine Dragons, classical music, rock, electronic, techno, punk, progressive, hip hop, rap and pretty much anything if it sounds good.

I really like movies that make me think and question things. It's always great to watch a good movie with someone and then pick it apart and talk about the movie afterwards. I especially like movies and tv shows that make me say what the **** just happened???
I have a lot of favorite movies, but to name a few:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Organize and take a road trip while camping around Iceland with a bunch of couchsurfers.
- I went hiking in the Alps and I felt like I was on top of the world.
- Booked a spontaneous flight and ran to the airport a few hours later.
- Picked up hitchhikers.
- Although life is tough and the world is filled with many bad and horrible people, I have also seen that there are some really good people out there that have a good heart and given the right opportunity and circumstances, they can show you this side.
- Learn how to cook different traditional foods from around the world.
- Live out of a backpack for 2 years.
- Ate in an illegal restaurant located in someone's house in Portugal.
- Sleep in a Gondola on the canals of Venice.
- Made friends with the owners of a Vineyard and got an inside tour of the wine-making process.
- Flew to a foreign country and within a few hours of being there, I got invited to a random house party that lasted until 11am.
- Swim in a hot spring in the middle of nowhere in the mountains under the Aurora Borealis.
- Make friends with people all around the world.
