About Me

CURRENT MISSION: Cuba April 18th - 21st
Hola amigos de couchsurfing! Espero practicar mi espanol contigo sobre una buena comida?!

My Spanish is pretty bad. I never studied in school, but I learned a little in the streets when traveling South America. I have a few days off for Easter, and have wanted to go to Cuba for quite some time. Hoping to find some locals to spend some good conversation and laughs while seeing what makes us similar and the special uniqueness that we each experience.

Life offers you the ability to take risks. I hope I don't trade that opportunity for safety/security/or fear of facing fears.

ABOUT ME

I may not be where I had imagined, but I have learned a lot along the way, and grown to be so much more thankful. Love anything to do in, on or under the water (Surf, Sail, Scuba, Swim - still haven't kiteboarded). Feel happiest when outdoors with good people around sunrise or sunset.

I am pretty optimistic, and usually see closed doors as great things, either there is something to overcome, or a choice is being made for me.

One of my best memory's of traveling was sleeping on a train platform in India, (after several days of no shower) and being ecstatic to find a flat place to sleep. I was dry, warm, flat with great friends and not hungry. I felt like the wealthiest person in the world!

Looking to get motivated and learn more about app/website development. Excited to become an entrepreneur
.
PHILOSOPHY

Time is a person's only true commodity.
Money can provide happiness - but it's usually by giving it away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

TRAVELING: After setting out on my first trip as a shoe string backpacker, I came to the conclusion that it's way easier to make friends when you aren't at the resort pool. I prefer the authentic.

Joined in 2009, and never looked back. Hoping to get my own place soon to start hosting.

Hopefully I'll get to meet you along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Crashed a handful of times.

1st experience was terrible, but CS bounced right back. Nothing but great experiences since. This really has been the highlight of many past trips.

Excited to see multiple local events popping up lately.

Interests

Anything active and outdoors. Food. Meeting funny, genuine or interesting people. Anything that has to do with water. Scuba diving, snorkeling, wakeboarding, surfing. I am pretty spontaneous and enjoy finding opportunities out of whatever circumstances.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not as big of a book worm as I plan. Most of my reading is BBC or as much as I don't like to admit it, other's posts on IG/Snap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed a few whoppers on Moped?
A) Went no hands with 3 people in India.
B) Raced 4 adults and their luggage through a night market to find the last room in town (all on 1 moped)

Quit my job and spent 1 year traveling around the World, East from Florida to Alaska . I got to do it with friends all along the way.

Quit my job and spent 1 year traveling central/South America

Met a stranger in Mexico and ended up Sailing 2 months together.

Hitchhiked almost the entire coast of Ireland and slept on the Cliffs of Mohr.

Joined local fishermen during their night fishing with huge lights off the coast of Sumatra. Never thought I would get sea sick : (.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am sure there are people much better than me to teach guitar, harmonica or English, but believe I'm quite an accomplished expert on "WHAT NOT TO DO", on many subjects.

Love to share and discuss the big questions in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good times. I usually rent a car/scooter/motorcycle etc to get around. If you're keen to host, Im keen to chauffeur. Im not the best cook, but I'll buy drinks or food, or wash all the dishes. Im getting pretty good at leaving your place better than I found it.
