About Me

*We are not interested in hosting long term/renting out any of our spare rooms for payment or free/getting a roommate*

I'm a 27 year old 5th grade teacher, and a seasonal for Metro Nashville Parks and Rec! I love the great outdoors, arts and crafts, history, and learning new things! (For Myers-Briggs fans, I'm an ENFP) My husband, Ben (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/ben-allen-8) is my partner in everything thing I do! (ISTJ) We also have a 1 year old poodle puppy, Penny. We are avid campers, and enjoy hiking, backpacking, and kayaking as well. We love to travel and hear stories about new places so feel free to share!

See "Additional Info" under the "My Home" tab for more info about our schedule!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet new people! I really can't decide if I like hosting or surfing more... they both rock and provide for such unique experiences! :)

I will say my favorite way to travel is couchsurfing! Every host you have is such an amazing different night, it really makes the people you meet almost a destination on your journey to look forward to. Like where you stay at night isn't just a place that you are sleeping, but more like a friend in a new place you haven't yet met!

Music, Movies, and Books

Roald Dahl has always been my favorite author. From his classic children's books to the darker adult stuff, it's all fantastic!

As for music, I love any and all. I think I would say my favorite is a mix of folksy-country-bluegrass!

My favorite movie of all time is definitely Monty Python and the Holy Grail. For just watching TV, I love documentaries, or adult cartoons such as South Park and American Dad. The only show I followed consistently is Game of Thrones. Other movies I enjoy: Con-air, Tombstone, Anchorman, Twister, Castaway, The Day After Tomorrow, National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, and the Disney version of Sword in the Stone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well... I haven't done it yet, but we are in progress! A week after Ben and I got married we numbered all the 50 states in our National Park Passport book with the goal that on that number for the year we will hit all the National Parks in that state. Hopefully by our 50th we will have visited all the National Parks in the United States! (We put TN as zero since we live here and can work on them and added in the Washington D.C. area as it's own number) You can see a picture of the map under my photos!

We have currently been married a little over three years and number #1 was North Carolina! We successfully hit all but one National Park there. That just means we have to go back. ;) While we were there we couchsurfed most of the 11 day trip, and met SO MANY amazing individuals!

#2 was Alabama, and we still have a few to hit there because Hurricane Nate trashed our trip. Even though it got cut short once again, we met some absolutely amazing people who showed us everything they could despite like 80% of the things we actually came to see in state being closed! 😂

Year 3 is Georgia and we have knock 2 parks off the list already!

We have also visited a couple in Tennessee but are still working to do all. Plus we have done 1 in Kentucky, 1 in South Carolina, and 1 in Ohio!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to know if you are smarter than a 5th Grader... I teach that for a living! I also quilt, knit, crochet, cross stitch, paint, a little of everything!

I love any and all form of crafts so I'm always down to learn about those!
As far a sharing goes we have some funny stories I guess we could tell!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't mind helping you clean or cook! :)
