Overview
About Me
I am initially from the US, but have lived most of my adult life in Mexico. I've been here since 2005. I work in education, but my hobby and passion is movement in any form, especially acrobatics, gymnastics, handstands and anything circus-y.
I was a very introverted child who became an ambivert adult...or maybe Mexico changed me too. I can draw energy from being around people, especially in smaller settings and deeper conversations, but I can also be socially awkward and more observant in crowds and I sometimes need a few quiet moments to recharge.
I am empathetic. I like to be helpful and I like learning about and listening to others' life stories.
Current project: Growing and uniting the acro/acroyoga community in my city and leveling up my own skills through training, workshops and events, so that I can share with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new and I'm curious about the community that's being created here, the idea of cultural exchange, but also exchanging skills and talents. The CS spirit and values that people talk about intrigue me. I suppose it really embodies the way I want to see the world, to believe in and experience that type of kindness and connection.

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Handstands! Handstands are mood-boosting, humbling, and also confidence building. I would be happy to share tips and tricks. I also feel comfortable teaching basics of acroyoga and I never get tired of it, so if that's something you would like to learn, I am happy to share! I love to fly and am working on being a more solid base 💪
Learn: I would love to learn anything! Especially...how to juggle, how to code, how to press to a handstand, how to take better care of my plants...I like learning about pretty much anything and it's so interesting to see the diversity of people's passions, hobbies, and talents.
Share: Food and conversation
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think I'm open-minded, accepting, a good listener, and kind. I like to offer a helping hand where I can. I can share some of my experience living almost half of my life in one country and half of my life in another, how that shifts your identity. I can share my experience as the mom of an awesome teen.
