About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University studying plant genetics. I come from a large family who enjoys to travel and experience different cultures. I spend most of my time at school and work, but in my free time I love to go dancing and spending time outside hiking, rock climbing, and exploring new areas with my husband, Brayton.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of being part of a global community. It gives an opportunity to be kind to one another, get to know different cultures, and learn to live and love each other for our differences. Wisdom comes from experience, and couch surfing provides access to attaining those experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a music person in general, so i'll listen to almost everything, but my favorite styles are indie, folk, rock and anything acoustic.
I love historical movies, and basically all movies really. My husband and I particularly enjoy Wes Andersen films, as well as Riff Trax and Mystery Theater 3000.

Some of my favorite books are The Little Prince and The Great Gatsby, but I also enjoy the work of C. S. Lewis and Malcolm Gladwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived for 18 months in Cabo Verde, Africa as a volunteer. It was an amazing opportunity to be completely immersed in a culture and form strong bonds with the people there, as well as to learn Portuguese and the native Creole.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not quite sure what to write in this box, but from the bit of life experience that I have, when we spend time sharing and teaching others, we learn so much more than what those whom we are teaching learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd like to think that I'm an open person that loves to talk about life experiences and get to know people. I love to share the things I've learned from my life and travels, from recipes to stories and tips. I'm a decent cook, and more than willing to share a meal.
