About Me

I think that you cannot know a person from the first impression. For this reason I don't know how to write about me.
I think for the only fact that I'm using couchsurfing I can be considered a sociable and open-mind person who worth knowing. The other thnigs will come along with the relationship we build.

Actually I can say that until few years ago I wasn't so fascinated by the idea of travelling. In that period I loved stability and security in the little places where I lived. Everything changed thanks to my first erasmus experience.
That experience made me realize of just how much there is still left to see in the world around me.
During the erasmus I tried to visit as much places as possible, moving with my friends or alone, in a way that didn't belong to the previous myself. When the eramus ended, the possibilities to travel were reduced but not the desire.
In fact, today, everytime the situation is opportune, I plan a new voyage.

In this period I'm working in Bangor University, doing an erasmus traineeship. So the adventure still goes on...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some friends told me about Couchsurging. At the beginning I thought it was an easy and cheap way to travel, without all the annoying research of an accommodation to stay. As time passes I learned that sleeping below a roof is not the real (or the only) aim of couchsurfing.
Every time I travel I want to save as much money as possible but I don't want to be a lonely tourist that collects only pictures of the mainstream monuments of the city/place visited. I want to meet new people, talk with them, learn by them.
A city seen like a tourist has one look.
A city seen with someone who lives in has a total different look. Also the same places you can visit alone as tourist, can shine with a different light if showed by someone who live in tight contact with them.
So, in conclusion, I'm seeking the most complete experience you can achieve by a travel. Hoping couchsurfing could help in that.

Interests

Besides biology and all it's applications and topics related, I really enjoy watching movies, tv series, and reading manga.
Although this nerd's interests, I like to define myself as a nerd in incognito: if you first start talking about that stuff I'll follow you, otherwise I can spend all the time with people without mentioning this side of my interests!

My real first interest is meeting with my friends, drink together (not always necessarily getting drunk) and chat about everything.
I'm also fascinated by philosophy and political sciences. Although for the former I'm not talented: once my brother (who studied philosophy) said that I really apply myself to understand a concept, but probably there's some kind of problem in biologist's minds that block learning/internalizing it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Unfortunately I lack a culture in music and books. I know a little of both but unless we share the same interests I can't afford a real conversation. But I love if someone talks me about a book or a musical group that is amazing for him. I think that a great part of music, movies and books that I know, comes from a random speech with a friend excited by them.
About movies and tv series I don't know...I can see and like everything. It's easier to say what I don't like: horror movies (they really scary me to death) and dumb comedies (such as american pie).
