About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To "BRING IT," a la Adar and Jeremy (To get in awesome shape)

ABOUT ME: Nota bene: I no longer reside in our nation's capital!! Just don't want to disappoint anyone looking to stay in DC

Lived in Washington, DC from '07 to 2014 where I completed my MA in the History of the Decorative Arts, and worked a several museums. Spent the next five years in Seattle, WA. I now live in the charming town of New Hope, PA in beautiful, historic Bucks County about an hour's drive from Philadelphia, and three hours from Washington.

I'm outgoing, generous, and a great cook. For example, while staying as a guest with a family for three weeks in Paris (not through Couch Surfing) I went to the market, bought everything for a meal and prepared a three-course dinner with lots of wine! I've traveled to Africa, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Hawaii.

One evening in New York a number of years ago, I met a young couple on the street who were looking up at a building where they were supposed to stay. The people were not home! I offered them a bed at my Mom's apartment around the corner so they could get a good night's sleep before going to the airport for a flight to Hawaii the next day. They were from Basel, Switzerland and gave me their info, but I have never been to Basel so I will probably never see them again. I have their address somewhere! I look forward to Couch Surfing -- always a positive experience under the right circumstances!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
I've hosted since joining as often as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:
Have hosted visitors from England, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Sydney, Mallorca, Spain, Egypt, and Belgium.
Unless you have extraordinary circumstances, (which you can discuss with me) Couch Surfers may stay NO LONGER than THREE nights. Two nights are ideal, and one is not worth the work to clean the bathroom and launder the bedding
If I accept your Couch Surfing request, don't make me beg for your travel details.
PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH AS MUCH OF THE DETAILS OF YOUR ARRIVAL AS YOU HAVE AT THE TIME OF YOUR REQUEST and a little bit about what you plan to do here in Bucks County. I can offer sightseeing and some museums.
YOUR DETAILS:
~ Approximate time of day: Morning, afternoon, evening
~ Method of transportation: Air flight, bus, train, bicycle, someone is bringing you to my place, coming by metropolitan bus or train once you have arrived in Philadelphia or New York to get you to New Hope.
I can assist you to figure out your transportation for example, from where you will be arriving (another city, directly from another country, another surfing host's place here in Bucks County, etc.)

House Rules:
- Please respect my time and need for privacy.
- The site name is Couch Surfing, so no Couch Potatoes! I had one who tried to extend his stay and stayed on the couch watching television
- If the weather is inclement, be prepared! I'm happy to loan you an umbrella, but rain or shine, there is so much to see and do here.
- If you're travelling with someone you don't know very well, please don't inflict your disagreements on me.
I once had two women couch surfers who discovered they were totally incompatible. It was dreadfully unpleasant all around and they got a 'travel divorce' at their next stop.
- And fellas, if we happen to go out in the evening, remember I'm your host; it's not a date. Let's keep things light, simple, culturally interesting, and upbeat! I'm a Culture Vulture!! If you don't know what that means, please look it up.
