About Me

July 2022 - I found it interesting that my last update was just two month before the pandemic shutdown. So, like everyone else out there I haven't been doing much traveling. But, I hope to change that now. I also just converted my very large shed into a bedroom/bath so now I have a place to host travelers.

January 2020 - Life has moved me in a new direction, again. No more office work but developing a small service business. Still love the Smokie Mountains and my tiny house so staying put, at least for now.

November 16, 2018 update - spent most of 2018 traveling but ended up buying a tiny house in the Maggie Valley, NC area. Back to work for now...planning my next adventure.

November 2017 update - I sold my house and all of its contents and will start my traveling adventure in January 2018. My route includes Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, then head to Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Vermont, New York, then back to South Dakota to see my mom for awhile and decide what happens next.

I am adventurous; spiritual; social; content; lively; fun loving; sometimes quiet; independent; nature lover, intuitive; environmentally sensitive, humanist, loyal, optimistic, and best of all…drama free. I enjoy a challenge; my instincts are almost always right; I believe change is always good and less is more. I love being in the company of those who have a way of making my world bigger. I am not into “stuff” but rather forming relationships and experiencing life. I have been seeking a spiritual path for most of my life and am grateful for all the lessons that have kept me progressing, even the extremely hard ones. In fact, those are the ones that have projected me to where I am today.

I enjoy a witty sense of humor and have learned to not take life to serious. Live day to day, sometimes moment to moment. I have four children who live all over (NC, GA, and CO), one granddaughter, and my grandson passed away in 2008 at the age of four.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Current - January 2018 will be the start of my travel adventure. I hope to utilize couchsurfing to meet people along the way who enjoy sharing information about their area as I travel from one workaway placement to another. And I can share my experiences with them.

Past - I am going to be traveling soon with workaway opportunities and I want to be able to couch surf when I travel from place to place. I decided I wanted to host while I still have my house in Rapid City, SD. Once I find a new home I will also host again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any book that makes me think outside the box.
One of my couchsurfers left me one of the best books I have ever read - The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer...a must read. Just another wonderful reason to participate in this fun and rewarding program.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised four children. Now that I have sold my house and its contents I will be traveling with only what I need and what I can fit in my trusting Honda Civic.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Netherlands
