About Me

Adventurous, slightly impulsive when it comes to outdoor activities, willing to experience new things, open-minded.

Please write a somewhat personalized request, as I get too many "I'm X, I come from Y, traveling to Z. Please host me" messages. I think couch surfing is not just a free hotel service, and it doesn't take much longer to read the profile of a host and write a personalized request :) Be sure to read my 'My Home' page, too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A very social way of visiting new places all around the globe. No one knows the city better than people living in it and they are likely to know the really cool places to be in town. I prefer a couch with a local host over a hostel at all times: being submerged in the local way of living is most valuable to me.

Interests

I like climbing, hiking, paragliding, travelling, and anything that is new and exciting
I love playing piano but unfortunately living without one for several years has not been kind to my skills. I love listening to people playing their instruments (including voice!), tho.
Love being outdoors: in winter I go skiing, in summer hiking, climbing and camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts of music and ever changing. I listen to, among many other, post rock, prog metal, classical, singer-song writer, jazz, psytrance and pop. Not a commercial pop and modern r&b fan, tho I can love old school hiphop.

I read with varying intensities, but love the classics like Orwell’s 1984. Last book I read was the first Mistborne one. Fantastic book! Others include Hyperion (D. Simmons), Foundation series (I. Asimov), Inferior (A. Saini), A Primate's Memoir (R. Sapolsky),...

Movies such as The Departed, Fight Club, The Hours and many others. My favourite series of all times would be Band of Brothers, but Green Wing and Coupling always get me going.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying stress in elephants in Namibia for 2 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have enough time I could teach you some basics of climbing!
In winter we could go ice-skating and skiing and in summer hiking in de mountains.
I love slacklining! Google it, it's amazing, both in winter and in summer!
Some Norwegian language skills ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food (i.e. a lovely dumpster-dived-dinner is definitely a must-do!), music, movies, climbing and hiking info,...
