About Me
(Travelling July-October 2023)
Retired walker and cyclist with grown up children living nearby.
Easy going, lefty politics, like cooking, games, cinema, galleries. We've more in common than divides us.
Brought up in Essex and worked in London, but lived in Yorkshire most of my life.
Have an extended family over the UK and Europe.
20 years ago I had a very successful op to get out a tumour, which means one side of my face sags a little.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't want to see everything as an outsider.
I'm happy to receive guests as well as enjoy company and stories and suggestions elsewhere. I love travelling to new places.
I have tried verifying my phone but the system doesn't seem to be able to send messages to UK phones. I'm new to couchsurfing so no hosted references yet but soon I hope. I am visible online so you can see I'm real and no weirder than other people (I think!).
Music, Movies, and Books
Interested in almost everything.
Read a lot of novels, political drama and biography are favourites.
From Joni Mitchell and Rolling Stones onwards, good to dance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled in South America and in South East Asia. OK, that seems to be two things and more, but so much stood out: Carnaval, and the Mekong Delta. I've visited too many countries to list in the question below.
Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts
Chat, experience, walks, card-and-game-playing, or quietness and independence. I'll cook a meal. Kitchen and facilities are available.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Cuba, United Kingdom
